do something,” acted Amber. Mara wanted to giggle but held it back. In that time Nina ran to Victor’s office. There was a big wooden shelf where all the keys were hanging. “Attic, Bathroom, Cellar. There it is” whispered Nina to herself. She quickly shut the shelf door and went racing down the stairs to the cellar. Fabian, Patricia and Tori were already waiting near the cellar. “All you have to do is get something from down there and quickly. We will be waiting for you here for 10 minuets’ maximum. Then we will go upstairs. See you later Nina” explained Patricia and started her stopwatch. Klick, Kluck, Klick made the door when Nina unlocked the door.

She went in and closed the door behind her. Klick. She opened her torch. Carefully Nina went down the stairs. She came into a big room. On the left there was a storage room and on the right there was a room full of boxes. There were all stacked together in neat piles against the walls and in the middle there was a big empty space. Nina went into that room. She looked at her watch. Only 5 minutes left. Suddenly one of the boxes from the highest stack fell. One more fell. The next one too and then the other one until there was only one more box left on the ground. Her bracelet star started glowing and started pulling her towards it. Nina was shocked and scared but she was still very curious so she stepped forward until she reached the box. She pulled it out and suddenly a hidden door opened. Now Nina was terribly frightened. “Sarah has given me this bracelet. She said I am the chosen one that I have to keep the secret. Is this the secret? I wonder what is in that room” Nina thought and stepped into the room. The door closed behind her. “Help, help!!! Fabian, Tori, Patricia can you hear me? Help, Help, please help me somebody!!!” Nina screamed but it all she could hear was her own echo. She looked around. There was only a portrait of a girl. Her eyes started glowing blue. Nina went back to the door. She searched for any handles and found a carving in the door. It felt like a star and then suddenly her bracelet started glowing again. Nina fitted her star into the carving and it fitted perfectly. The door opened and she ran out. She pushed the cardboard box back to the wall and the door closed. Her bracelet stopped glowing when she stepped away from the wall.

Nina looked at the cardboard box she had just shifted a few moments ago. She opened the box and found old pictures and diaries. She took one out. It was of Victor when he was still young. It was written so on the back. Victor, 7 years old it said. Her star started glowing again. Nina had a strong feeling that this is about the secret Sarah was talking about. The star pulled her to a large book. Nina tried to open the book but then decided to take it up with her. She went back up and opened the cellar door quietly. Nobody was there. “How will I get this key back to Victor…but I would need it for further visits back to the cellar. Hmm…I could ask Amber to go to the market tomorrow and make a duplicate of the key. Yea! That’s what I’ll do!” she thought as she crept up the steps.

She looked into Victor’s office. She had to walk right pass by his room but he was luckily asleep. She crept by and ran quietly to Patricia and Mara’s room. “There you are! You have been down there for over an hour! What have you been doing down there? We were so scared. We were thinking to go back down but we didn’t have the key. It locks by itself you know,” said Amber in a scared voice. She got up from the bed and hugged Nina. I need to tell you guys something very, very important. It will be our secret, “ said Nina as she looked to Amber, Patricia, Tori and Fabian. “It is very important that you guys won’t tell anybody. I think especially the teachers,” said Nina in a very strict and scared voice. “What happened down there Nina? You sound and look very scared and worried and what is that in your hand?” asked Tori. Nina revised the whole weird thing that happened in the cellar. She then told them about the book and showed them. They each tried opening it with their full force but it just didn’t open. They left it for now because it was already 2 o’ clock in the morning.

The next day the six friends met in Amber and Nina’s room. Fabian had come up with an idea to open the book. “So you said that your star made the door open didn’t you?” asked Fabian excitedly. “Yeah, it did. Why?” asked Nina, “Oh, wait you mean that the bracelet will open the book?” “That is exactly what I meant” said the only boy in the room. “Well come on and try it!” encouraged Patricia. “Well, if you say so I will” answered Nina. She removed her bracelet from her hand. The chosen girl moved it toward the book. It started glowing. “Wait, Nina, wait”, said Amber, “Let me try it”. Nina handed Amber the bracelet. She held it near the book. Nothing happened. Amber touched the thick metal seals with the star but still nothing moved or glowed. She handed it back to Nina. She held it near the book and it glowed. Nina handed it to Patricia. Nothing happened. Patricia handed it to Fabian. The same thing repeated itself. Finally they handed it back to Nina. She hesitated for a moment and then she touched her star right to the seals. TWHAAAACK and the first seal opened. They all gasped. Nina touched her star to the second seal, which opened the same way as the first one. The girls were shocked. Fabian was the only one able to move. He took the book carefully and was about to open it when Amber interrupted him. “Hey, wait. First I want to tell you guys something. Nina told us that this is a very, very important secret that NOBODY else should know. Maybe we should form a club. I already have a name for it. Let’s call it Wodash. That is backwards of Shadows. Carry on Fabian.” Fabian opened the book. The book was very thick and Tori was expecting a whole lot of writing in it.

Fabian opened the book. The book had a big hole in the middle. “What?” asked Patricia and Tori at the same time. “There, there is nothing in there? Just a big hole?” asked Amber. “Well looks like it!” told Mara. “DINNER KIDS. COME ON DOWN!!!” called Trudy. “Where should we hide the book?” Fabian asked Nina. “Um… I will put it under the bed. I think it should be safe there for now” and Nina put the thick book under her bed. They all went down to the dining room.

“Today is the exam for French. The exam papers are on the desks. Please take your seats”, instructed Mrs. Daphne the French and history teacher. Everybody took their seats. “Oh no, I didn’t study for this. I completely forgot about it!” whispered Amber to Mara. “Don't worry. It will go just fine” answered Mara trying to comfort Amber as Freddy interrupted her, “Oh yes, Miss Know-it-all Mara.” “Shush everybody! Now please put your headphones on and I will start the test. The speaker will say a sentence and then they will be questions for it. I will start it now” instructed Mrs. Daphne and pressed a red button when everyone had put their headphones on.

At the end of the class Victor and Mr. Sweet, the principal of the school, had come to visit Mrs. Daphne. The Wodash group was spying on them trying to listen what they were saying. “We need to find that treasure Victor. It is somewhere in that house of yours”, said Mr Sweet. “Didn’t you say that lady was living with you in that house before and her parents had hidden it? She must know where the treasure is! Um…what’s her name again?” asked Mrs Daphne. “You mean Sarah. Well, I don't even know is she is alive”, said Victor and with that the six ran out of the school back to the house.

“Sarah? They were talking about Sarah. That means what Sarah told me IS true!”, said Nina shocked. “We need to go back to that cellar”, said Fabian in a not so confident voice. Amber put her left hand in front of her left side of face so that it was covering her eye. “Wodash?” she asked and they all agreed.

They met at midnight at the cellar. They all went down with the spare key. Amber had been able to get the original key back to Victor’s room. They went to the pile of boxes. Nina pulled the box and the door opened. They all went in. The door closed. Nina removed the portrait. She opened the door and they all went out again after investigating the room. “There is something written on the back”, said Tori pointing at some letters. Fabian took a picture of it with his mobile phone.

In the morning Fabian came rushing into Nina and Amber’s room with Tori, Mara and Patricia. Nina was awake but Amber was still sleeping. “Hurry, Hurry. I did some research last night about those weird Egyptian letters on the Internet and it means 8 steps downhill. I asked these three about it and they think it means that the eight steps down the stairs. Come on let’s check!” Fabian said and with that Amber got up and they all went to the stairs. “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven and eight,” counted Amber as she went down the stairs. She went till the 9th stair and looked at the 8th one. Nina tried removing the wooden plank. It lifted up and they all looked in. There was a small wooden box. Nina took it and started rushing back upstairs. Amber put the wooden plank back and followed up with them.

They still had enough time before they had to get changed so they tried to open the box. As again it didn’t open. Nina put her bracelet and Thwaaack it opened. There was a big shine of light and they all saw gold. “Sarah told me to hide it safely. I think she meant the Chamber in the cellar. We will all go down the to night and hide it. Our quest is then over!” instructed Nina and they all ate breakfast and went to school.

The next night they did exactly as Nina had said and then had a small little party the next night to celebrate their success. Their quest had now finished. They all were thirsty for the next one…….for their next adventure.
