“I’m sending a police cruiser to your location. Stay on the line. Do not move from where you are.” The operator told her. Kiran laid in the vents above Holocene. He kept his breathing under control and stayed silent. He couldn’t wait until the police had arrived else his plan would be dashed. Kiran couldn’t take out his sword without making noise. He waited anxiously in the vents as a conversation between Holocene and the operator got repetitive. 

After a while, Toraku reappeared with a bloodied knife. Holocene shrieked. “He’s back,” She shouted into the phone. A dumbfounded Toraku stood still. Toraku approached her with the knife on hand. “He’s attacking me!” She shouted.

“What’s happening?” He asked.

“He’s hurting me!”

Kiran decided to use this situation to end his suffering. He dropped from the vents and took out his sword. He slashed Holocene’s neck open. A deep wound appeared. Blood gushed out of the wound. She gurgled on the blood and collapsed. Toraku stepped back surprised. He couldn’t speak a word. Kiran rushed at Toraku and slashed his neck. He then jabbed the sword into his throat. Kiran applied more pressure into the sword cutting through his neck even more. Kiran kept pushing the sword even more until it completely cut off his head. It rolled off his body and dropped to the floor. Toraku got back into the vents and escaped the same way he came in.

“You may return to heaven for you have finished your mission.” The words echoed in Kiran’s mind. 

Kiran nodded. “I want to leave,” He said. He was granted his wish. He faded away. The evidence that related to him faded away, but the memories of him never did. The murder of Holocene was committed by Toraku according to the police. The reports also state that he committed suicide by cutting off his head after the murder. The name ‘Kiran Salvator’ and ‘Kane’ was only remembered by a few while the rest of the world lost the names. Forgotten as a piece of paper is to water.
