couldn't go to war were placed in community positions as air raid marshal or other national protection position.

Scrap Drives: All across America, citizens collected rubber, metal, and other resources for the war effort. These materials were made into needed vehicles, weapons, or war goods for the good of the cause.

Rationing: Since precious materials were in short supply and much of the food produced was going to Europe and the Pacific, households were only allowed to purchase certain items on certain days of the week in specific quantities.

Productions Lines: Ford’s production line made mass productions possible as women and minorities flooded the industrial warehouses to make planes, tanks, and ships. The production line made unskilled labor a thing of the past.

Summary

This has been a short introduction to many different technologies used during World War 2. You will use this information to preform your own research for a mini writing assignment as you place yourself into your choice of assignment during this war.

You may want to be a Captain of a Battleship or an Ace pilot behind the stick of a P-51 Mustang. Maybe you want to be in charge of your towns scrap drive or a solider that has yet to enter combat.

What ever you chose to become, you will use the information you have learned to help you become that person.

Good luck!
