Dulces de Coco by Angely Mercado (grave mercy txt) π

This is a combination of the stories and poems that I have written. Many of the pieces in this book are inspired by my childhood, the stories my relatives have told me and my culture.

Iβm Adele!β she said back, smiling over her taco.
βPleasure meeting you.β
I turned and walked out to Rod and Kevin who had waited for me for over 10 minutes.
βWe were talking about you,β Kevin laughed, βthatβs such an Angely thing to do, you even talked to her and everything.β
βNot the first time Iβve done that.β
βObviously not,β he laughed.
Rod and Kevin joked about how nice I am, reminding me of a friend who had told me that if I was ever desperate enough to rob someone, Iβd apologize to them before I took their money.
I donβt think helping Adele came from the push over layer, it didnβt come from the proximity to holy week that reminded me to remain devout. It came from that part of me thatβs still very patient and very kind. I hope that layer will be there in 5 years, in 10 and even in 50 years. Because I never know when Iβll bump into another Adele, and I never know when Iβll one day be Adele, limping along a street, determined to get to my taco, or my frozen yogurt, or my cat. Iβm hoping thereβs good karma involved.
