rosealind where out at theirs all holding a paper. my hand shot up, with it in my hand. theirs came up to and it was from the same camp. we met in the middle of the lawns. "so we gonna go?" rosealind asked. "yeah." landen said. "i have nothing better to do, so why not." kayden said. "pass." i said. rosealind stopped my hand before i ripped the paper in two. "dude, i saw the video, and you have mad talent. it'd be a shame to let it go to waste." she said. "alright rine i'll go, it won't do any harm in trying." i said. "that's the sprit!" lanen said, offering a high five. why should i be mad? whoever filmed the video was just tying to help out. i returned his haigh five. "we cool?" i asked. "yeah, we're cool." kayden said. he slapped hands, and gave a hug. the next day we had our things packed and we where sitting at the curb. "pick a color." rosealind said, shoving a fortune teller in my face. "black." i said. "numer?" she said. "seven." i said. "okay," she said, opening the tab. "life as you know it, is about to cahnge forever." she read. "hey is that the bus?" kayden asked, pointing and standing up. "so it is." landen said, grabbing his bag we all picked up our bags. we all got on and went to the camp. we where hearded into the camp fire area for house arangments. "name?" a woman asked, not looking up. "Ember frost." i said. she looked up and her pen fell from her hand. "uh, um." she siad, fumbling through a folder. her hand shot out to me with a peice of paper. i took it. "someone needs to lay off the coffee." i told rosealind as i walked by her. i stood off to the side. "rosealind duran, and my brother kayden durran." she said. she fumled again and her hands shot out. "whoa, dude calm down." kayden said, taking the paper. "landen parks." he said, stepping up. her hand shot out. "thanks," he said, taking the paper. "what a loony." he said, coming to our side. we walked down a dirt road and then up a stone walk way. "no way." rosealind said. "what is this the camp for the rich and famous?" kayden asked. rosealind grabbed my hand and pulled me to our cabin. we picked our rooms and unpacked. i flopped down on the sofa, next to lanen. " i thought summer was suposed to be all sunny and happy i said. "this is really making me depressed." rosealind said, sitting next to me. i through my arm around her and kissed her cheek. "there has to be something to do, i mean, we can play." kayden said, sitting on the coffee table. "hey why don't we go down to the show room, i saw some music stuff being loaded off of a truck, we could check it out." landen said. we all walked down to the show room. "hey guys, i'm Astra. i'm going to be your camp counsaler." she said. aster had mid-length blonde hair, and baby blue eyes. she was breath taking and for some reason i felt a strong pull to her as if we knew each other for a life time. "i need to talk to you guys, but i want you all to get settled, so after the camp fire tonight i want you to meet me back here." she said. she smiled and hurried away. "well ok." i said. Hey whats going on?" i asked, the kid playing dj. "getting music ready for later." he said. i listen to the song. "where'd you go i miss you so, seems like it's been forever scince you've been gone." it sang. my breath caught in my throat and i pushed passed my friends. "Ember?" Roaealind said. i took off in a run. i shut my door when i got to the cabin, and cryed. i guess i never really got the consept of my dad being gone. i really did miss him and that song pushed me over the edge. even the best fall down sometimes right? there was a knock on the door. landen's eye brows came together in a sympathetic way. i rapped my arms around him and cryed, as he held me and rubbed my back. "i miss him." i said. "i know you do." he said, holding me tighter, as if i would fade away. "will the pain fade?" i asked. "i can't answer that, cause mine, hasn't yet." he said. as of that moment i didn't care if landen did something bad. he was there i i loved him for that. "thank you." i said. "for what?" he asked. "being here." i said. "anytime, no matter what. i promise i'll always be by your side." he said. landen was so sweet, and he didn't even know me. well maybe he did. on the ride here, we had a lot of time to pass so we talked, as kayden and rosealind slept. i skiped dinner and watched the flames dance, not paying attention to everytime everyone got up and yelled. i could feel the heat from the fire and it made me feel calm. rosealind sat back down and i finaly looked up, seeing astra watching me. i looked away, and smiled at kayden who was on my other side. he offered me a high five and i returned it. we wallked to the show room. "you okay ember?" kayden asked. rosealind waited and looked at me intently for the answer. "yeah, i'm good come on." i said, pushing open the heavy oak doors. "perfect you made it. what i'm about to tell you will change your lifes forever." astra said. i had a flash back, when i sat on the curb next to rosealind and she read that from the tab. " when you get to the age of seventeen you change. and i mean really change. as in change into a vampire." she said. "Oh great, we get to be prancing sparkling vamps!" kayden said. rosealinds, arm shot out and met with his chest. "you don't sparkle in the sun. a dark magic has desended on Ghostly stone, which is the realem where i live." she said. your the good guys?" rosealind asked. "oh come on rose," kayden said "zip your lip." landen said. "my coven and i are called rebellion servers." she said. "i thought you said, you where good." kayden said, sounding inerested. "we are. my father was king, he died in a battle, my brother, doron was named the new king. he had a different way of seeing things than my father, and used his power for bad. i took some vampires and we where banished, to the grey ice mines, cause we where going against his word. my brother is using forbiden curses to take over the magic realem, with the help of his flame beings. they have silver skin, and red eyes. the have thin tails, that have poison to vampires. it can jurt all vamipres except, for the vampire empress, who is the most powerful vampire and can't be harmed by anything, but a head on atack. she can use any power she want's, and there can only be one alive at a time." she said. "witch is you." i said. "witch is you." she said. "me?" i asked, pointing at myself. "yes you," she said. "you've got the wrong girl." i said. "trust me when i say i don't. the magic powers have chosen you for a reason." she said. "yeah to end life to vampires as we know it." i said. astra opened a box, and pulled out four large books, making kayden sneze. she passed them down. "how will we kown when we turn?" roesalind asked. "you'll know. know go home and read your books." she said. "great, more reading." kayden said. we all went into the study. my chest felt like it had caved in. i doubled at the knees. "you okay?" rosealind asked. she rested her hand on my back. "ow, she bruned me." she said. "she didn't mean to, rosealind!" kayden siad. "yeah, she's our friend." landen said. their voices where becoming very annoying, and i wanted to tell them to shut up. my breaths came deeeper and slower, my heart rate became odly slow, and the blood in my viens went hot. slowly my chest came back to normal. "i'm good." i said, flipping up right. "whoa!" rosealind said, pointing at me. the boys turned. "oh shit!" kayden said, raking his hhands through his hair. "i think you might of changed." landen said. i went to the mirror in the hall. "whoa!" i yelled. my skin was a pale white, my brown hair was turned a fiery orange, and my eyes, where a stange ice blue-white collor, that i think really rocked. my lips where a light red, as if i just put on makeup. rosealinds, bloody shrek made me run back. she was curled on the floor, with the guys bent over her. "get off of me you dorks." she said. standing. she had deep-set light violet eyes, and light blue hair. "i want blue hair!" i said. "what!" she yelled, running to the mirror. "my hair is blue!" she yeleld. "good job." kayden sadi. "shut up or i'll turn your ass to dust." i said. "rosealind," i sad, kayden covered his ears, as landen screamed. when he stood he had white hiar and sapphire eyes. rosealind came back. "alright late bloomer we're waiting on you." rosealind said. "this is retarted." he said, leaving he left. there was a crash, and we ran to him. his brown hair was replaced by dark black,a dn his eyes where a peircing lime green. "i don't know about you guys, but this is enough proof to make me syudy." i said. we all sat down. "stop looking at me." i siad. "well your kinda beautiufl, and you have a megnetic pull to yo." rosealind said. "i do?" i asked. "yeah, kinda like you make us feel we have to i don't know stand by you." kayden said. landen nodded. i opened the book and read. the next morning astra came in. "still reading are we?" she asked. we put the book down. "oh my, i didn't relize that you'd change so quickly." she said. i looked around at my freinds. "whoa what's up with embers eyes?" rosealind asked. "they turn read when a vampire is mad or threatened. tell me what's wrong." she said. "nothing." i said. i clossed the book, put my feet on the coffee table and crossed my arms. "is it just me or does, her hair look brighter?" kayden said. "what has angered you?" astra said. "all my live i have been looked down on cause i'm young i don't need it from you too." i said. " you have to calm down," astra said. landen, was infront of me, and grabbed my hands. my hair flew back, as if i'd just steped into a stom. "stay good." he said. my hiar fell, to my shoulders, and went to it's normal color. my eyes returned, to it's icey color. "good, stay with me." he said. "read up, my children. we star practice tomorow." she said. we opened our books again. a man shook my hand, he looked about twenty-six. "don't worry, ember, i only work with the empress. my name is arturo. i know how to help you. you'll have to trust me though. i know you may be scared, this is a big deal." he said. i nodded.
