The Head Judge's voice boomed across the audience. "This is a court of the People, is it not?" The crowd roars. "Is this young man not a traitor?" the crows roars again. "This horrible man's sentence is the loss of his life!" the crowd jumps, alive with violent satisfaction.

I saw red. I marched up to the podium. I stood between James and the Judges.

"If this is the People's court, then why have you not asked this teenager

what his side of the situation is? If this is the People's court, then why is there no jury? If this is the People's court, then why are you the only ones making decisions?"

The crowd quiets down, and an elderly man steps forward.

"I remember the days of Justice." he says. "Days when the life of a young'un like this one here was taken seriously. This girl, small as she may be, is right. This is not a People's court, it is a court of malice, and lies. Let the boy go free."

The judge starred me and the old man down. "This is a majority rule situation, and seeing as there are only two small, weak, unimportant rats that vouch for this man's life, you lose."

I lost it, and looked at the crows gathered. "Are all of you so pathetic that you're gonna stand there like mindless rodents and watch this boy's life go to waste? Stand up for a change, let an innocent boy live!
