It said.
I looked at my dark brown hair and shrugged, these morons couldn't even spell. It was time for some fun.
Hey dingbats, learn to spell. I can't tell if you're trying to insult me, or admit that no one likes you.
I wrote, and pegged one of them square in the back of the head. I saw a look of shock on his face as he read it. He turned to me and glared. I shrugged, and smiled sweetly.
Twenty minutes the bell rang, and I grabbed my bag and left. I saw that Alex guy that I'd been a total jerk-face to, and tried to flag him down. He turned, and walked in the other direction.
"Hey man, I want to talk to you!" I shouted after him.
He glared over his shoulder and stopped, waiting for me to catch up.
"What?" he said tersely.
"I just wanted to apologize. I was super rude to you, and it wasn't right." I answered.
He shook his head. "Forget about it, it's no big deal."
"You sure?" I asked.
He waved his hand and tried to smile. "Yeah, it's fine, Calypso."
"Call me Callie." I said. "Do you need a ride home?"
"No." he stated.
"Ookay, okay, just trying to be civil. I'll see ya 'round." I said, and turned to walk to my car.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, and flinched. "Sorry," said Alex. "I didn't mean to scare, but yeah, I guess I will take you up on that ride offer."
I smiled, and he followed me to my old, emerald green, step-side Ford. I patted the hood, and greeted my baby. Alex looked at me funny, but I ignored it. He got in, and I started the old thing, and asked him where he lived.
"In the 'rich kid' neighborhood." he said, using air-quotes.
"Um, where is that?" I asked.
"You want me to drive?" he asked.
I looked at him like he was insane. "This is my baby, I worked on this thing for so freaking long."
"I'll be careful, I know how to drive." he said.
I heaved a sigh. "Fine, I guess, but be nice to her."
We switched seats, and it was smooth sailing. We got to his house, and I was awestruck. It was gigantic. I stared at he manicured lawns and glass front doors of the houses that lined the street. No wonder this was labeled the "rich kid" neighborhood.
I head him scuff his foot on the sidewalk. "Text me if you need anything, here's my number." I said, still awe-stricken.
He groaned, and plucked the paper from my hand, and went inside. I made myself turn around and head back to Emmy, my truck.
