air, Alex shook his head to clear the cobwebs and rolled over onto his belly. Rising onto his feet, he realized that he was alone in the cave. He walked over to the door and gave it a shove. It didnβt budge.
He let out a ferocious βGROWL!β but that didnβt cause the door to budge.
He walked back to the rear of the cave and sprang forward, hitting the door with his shoulder, but the door only shook a bit, remaining firmly stuck in the crevices around the cave.
He was caught, and he knew it. Trapped. His plan had failed, and the two girls had escaped. He had lost.
Now on the outside, standing near her friend, Elisa took hold of both of Aliciaβs hands and asked, βAre you okay?β
βYes,β she supposed, wiping her own tear from her cheek. βThank you.β
βYou are welcome, my friend. Maybe next time I wonβt be so quick to walk into a dark cave. Maybe,β Elisa replied.
Smiling at each other, they gave each other a quick hug, realizing that they had just escaped grave danger, and had done so because of the bravery and intelligence of one little tree-swinger, Elisa.
Leaving their troubles behind, off to the volcano they both headed, to see, and explore, and have fun, as happy monkeys are apt to do.
