Arriving in Hallandale
As soon as I uttered the last word of my spell, I felt my body spin so fast that I was sure I would be shattered into a million pieces. All of a sudden, I found myself in a fast moving ocean current struggling to breathe. Being not much of a swimmer, I was no match for the rough waters of the Atlantic Ocean. During one of my struggles to stay above the waves I saw a man swimming out to me. I only saw his strong arms and his face. He was a fast swimmer and wore a look of determination and concern. The concern is what made me notice that my arm was still bleeding from where I had cut it back in the tomb. Before I knew it, I was back under the water -- too tired to fight. And then I felt the swimmer's strong arms around my chest as he pulled me above the surface.
When I next opened my eyes, I was lying on my back in wet sand, still in my Irish sleep dress now soaked with water and blood. I had cut myself much deeper than I planned.
βNow where did you come from?β my rescuer asked me with a perplexed smile.
βOkay, how to answer this?β I thought. I mean, I could not tell him the truth. He would think me daft if I did -- or worse, have me committed. βI fell off of a boat,β I said, trying hard to sound like I was telling the truth.
He gave me an βI am not sure I believe youβ look but scooped me up and said, βI had better get you to Captain Morris. She will want to stitch up that arm of yours.β
