"Hell yes I do." Gregon growled, raising the Klukin. His eyes drifted over to me, softing as he noticed my existance. "Sister, get out of my way."
"No! Gregon, you don't understand!" I screamed, blocking Rendul from the Klukin's path. The smoke continued to hiss at me as the weapon cooled down, and as my brother's anger flarred.
"Why can't you listen? Move, or he will kill you!" Gregon growled.
"Never!" Rendul shouted, stepping in front of me. Gregon paused, the weapon still pointed at Rendul's firmly beating heart. "I would never, EVER dream of harming her! I am not the man you Jahoven's think I am."
"Then why come?" Gregon snapped, his eyes lit once more. "Why allow my sister to act as your sheild?"
"Do you not see me defenseless? Am I not an easy target? If you are so sure of what I am, take my life! Just know one thing; the only being on this, excuse my human expression, god-foresaken planet, that made me feel the way I felt not two minutes ago, is your sister. And spit on my grave if she doesn't feel the same!"
Gregon looked at me, his eyes searching, and I immediatly blushed. His eyes went back to Rendul's and then right back to me again.
"You would be taking something very precious away from her if my life were to end, boy. And I can assure you, should the roles be reversed, I would have thrown that thing away."
Gregon cast a dark look at the Klukin, as the final wave of smoke drifted lazily, defeatedly up to the ceiling. He looked up once more, and tugged the lever.
Rendul fell down, dead, into my arms.
The End
It's over; all that I have of Rendul is memory, as his body was wrenched out of my arms and burned by none-other than Gregon. I cried for two weeks and, when my voice returned to me, I alerted the Hekton and Jahoven police. They took him away on their hovercrafts an hour later, and the fighting was immediatly waged.
All because Rendul liked a young Jahoven girl; all because he wanted peace, and love to be the rulers, not politics and hatred.
As the last of my Makiato slid down my throat, I glanced outside, waiting patiently for Calasar's hovercraft. The booth where Rendul leaned on a year before stood in front of me, the green leather looking just as worn and recently-shined as before. Leftover tears streamed down my cheeks and my black skirt began to itch again.
As I took another look outside, I had my final look at my country, where my loyalty lies most of all.
And as the Kulper bomb comes crashing down, in 3...2...1
