“Uncaged Beasts” event. Chase is suspicious of Lucas’ intent, but he only rambles about not being a proper older brother and being there for Ashanti before walking off. Now Chase returns to Ashanti’s house to ask her about the Uncaged Beasts event.

“You want to sign up for the Uncaged Beasts event?” I questioned him. “Yeah,” He said. “Where did you hear about this event from?” I asked. “U-Uh, from some of the villagers,” Chase said. “He’s lying.” I thought. “Well, whatever it doesn’t matter,” I said to myself. “Why do you want to join that event?” I asked him. “I want to be stronger.” He said confidently. “If I’m not strong enough to protect you, then who will?” He said. “Such a lovely kid.” I thought. “Fine, I’ll allow you, but you need to promise me you won’t die,” I told him. “I promise.” He said extending his hand out. I hesitantly shook it. “Let’s go sign up.” He said energetically. He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the signup sheet. “Oh, it’s the failed summoner and her weaker summon.” An annoying voice spoke up. I turned around to see the “three musketeers” behind me. “You’re really going to sign him up?” Lin asked. “If you want, I can take him off you. I wouldn’t mind him as a pet.” Mikael said. “You should go home. Wouldn’t want him being killed by my Fenrir.” Alexia taunted me. “It’s okay,” Chase told me. “Ignore the bratty bunch. Hey! You three leave. I want to be able to sign up without having to throw up at the sights of your faces. You know… what… I’m not feeling so good.” He said dramatically. He is pretending to be sick and aims his pretend throw up at the three girls. They shout “Ugh sicko” and leave. “Now let’s finish our business here,” Chase said turning towards the signup sheet and signing it. I am in shock at his attitude and how he doesn’t fear those three. “Maybe, I should be like him.” I thought.

Episode Five "Preparing For The First Round"

Recap:

Ashanti is known as a “failed summoner” because she is unable to summon anything when she reached fifteen. Four years later and she is still bullied by summoners who were lucky enough to be able to summon a beast. This drives Ashanti into the darkness where she is stuck. She cannot get out of the darkness caused by bullying, but one night when she was releasing her pain, a human named Chase appears. He is her only light and hopes to get out of the darkness. The three summoners, Mikael, Lin, and Alexia, appear and try to harass Ashanti again, but Chase stands up to the bullies and slams the door when they try to threaten them. Chase brings hope to Ashanti by protecting her from the bullies’ attacks. The next day, Chase is looking around his new home when he’s confronted by Ashanti’s older brother Lucas who seems to want to train Chase to fight in the cage fights known as the “Uncaged Beasts” event. Chase is suspicious of Lucas’ intent, but he only rambles about not being a proper older brother and being there for Ashanti before walking off. Chase takes Ashanti to the signup sheet while ignoring the three bullies from earlier.

“Tomorrow the first round will commence. Make sure your beasts are prepared for the fight.” The announcer said. “You excited?” I asked Chase. “As ready as I’ll ever be. Unfortunately, the fight is tomorrow.” Chase said. “You know that you’re fighting a lot of powerful beasts right?” I asked. “Don’t worry I understand,” Chase said pumped up. I shook my head. “I’m sorry do you mind if I leave. I’ll be back in a little bit.” He said running off. “Where is he going?” I thought. I shook it off and decided to return home. “Where could he be going?” The thought entered my mind again. “I don’t think he knows anybody. There’s no way he could have ran into my brother. Right?” I thought.

“I see that you actually signed up for the tournament. I don’t have much time before the first round, but let’s start your training.” Lucas said handing Chase a wooden sword. “If you can hit me then it’s your win.” He said. “Wait, how is hitting you going to test me?” Chase asked. “I’m a rank S fighter,” Lucas said. “What does that mean?” Chase asked. Lucas sighed. “That means that I’m very powerful,” Lucas said. “Okay, let’s start now,” Lucas said without a weapon. “You’re fighting barehanded?” Chase asked. “Yeah, if I don’t then you’ll never stand a chance,” Lucas said. He then crouched and stared at Chase. Chase brought out the sword and readied it. “Come at me,” Chase said. Lucas nodded. He stood up and rushed at Chase. Chase blocked the blow but was pushed back by the force of the blow. Lucas backed off and watched Chase’s movements. Chase walked forward to close the distance between them. Lucas backed off not fighting Chase. “Spirit Feet.” Lucas suddenly said. He disappeared. “Where is he?” Chase though turning around. He turned around trying to sense where Lucas is. He felt Lucas’ presence behind him. He turned around and swung in front of him. He missed and was shortly hit from behind him. He fell to the ground. He looked behind him and saw Lucas appear. Lucas extended his hand out to Chase to pick him up. “Not bad. Not only did you block my blow, but also sensed my presence.” Lucas complimented him. “I think you should be good after some more training,” Lucas suggested. “I’m ready. I want to be stronger.” Chase said without hesitation.

“I’m scared,” Ashanti said while at her house. “I don’t want Chase to die.”

“Your first opponent is Alexia. Her summon is a Fenrir.” I informed Chase. “That doesn’t seem bad,” Chase responded. “Are you crazy! It’s Fenrir!” I shrieked. “Yeah, isn’t a Fenrir a dog?” He asked. I stared dumbfounded. “It’s a legendary beast,” I told him.  “Well, it still is a dog anyways.” He said. I couldn’t respond to that comment. “Don’t worry I have a strategy to defeat Fenrir. Watch me. You’ll see that I’ll win.” Chase said with confidence. He walked into the arena and faced his opponent. “Welcome to the first battle of round one! It’s a battle between Alexia’s Fenrir and Ashanti’s human!” The announcer shouted. “Before the fight begins, is there any bets you’ll like to put out?” The announcer asked. “There is,” Alexia said from behind the fence of the arena. “If I win then I will be the master of the weak human.” She said. I scoffed. “She thinks I will agree to that?” I thought. “I agree,” said Chase. “Chase!” I shouted. “But if you lose then you cannot bully Ashanti anymore,” Chase told her. “I agree,” Alexia said. “Okay then, let’s start our fight,” Chase said getting into a defense position. “Don’t kill him, but hurt him enough for him to wish he was dead,” Alexia ordered. “Then let the fight begin!” The announcer shouted.
