BEEP BEEP BEEP

I sighed and tried to hit the snooze on my alarm clock. I just ended up hitting it ten feet across the room. I sighed for a second time and walked across the room, then turned it off. I yawned and grabbed the first pair of jeans and shirt I could see. When I was all dressed my stomach was practically yelling for food. I skipped down the stairs as quiet as I could; everyone was still sleeping because my sister did not have to get up for school in another hour. I opened the cabinet and got a Poptart. After swallowing that I got my backpack and dashed out the door. I was doing a mental check to make sure I had everything. When I did, I was with my thoughts. They wondered to Brystal. I wonder what she will look like. What will she be like? I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice what house I was at until I almost past it. Then I saw her. The most beautiful girl in the world. She had long dirty blonde hair, and her skin was so pale, and she had bright electric blue eyes. They were so blue they were almost unnatural...She was looking directly at me, and my heart started beating thousand times faster. She grabbed her backpack and walked over to me.

β€œHello, my name is Brystal.” She said. My cheeks started to burn, and I could tell I was blushing.

β€œH-hello.” I stammered. β€œMy name is Xavier.” I felt like such an idiot.

β€œAre you going to the high school bus stop?” She asked. She had a small smile on her face. I looked down at my shoes, so she did not see how red my cheeks were.

β€œYes.” I said.

β€œCould I follow you? I don’t know where I am going.” Brystal said. Oh man. Now she wanted to follow me? Praying that I would not act like an idiot, I said,

β€œSure.”

I started walking, with her by my side. I kept staring at my shoes, knowing I was still red like a target.

β€œSo, um, is the school really nice?” She asked. I knew she was just trying to talk to me. Trying with all the effort I could muster, I looked up at her and tried to smile. I almost melted in my shoes.

β€œYes, it’s nice place.  We have a good team, (I am on it) and we also have nice classrooms and cafeteria and stuff.” I said.

β€œCool, I can’t wait.”  Brystal said.

I stood there, congratulating myself on making a effort. I glanced over at her, and she had a weird look on her face, like she was thinking super hard about something.

β€œAre you okay?” I asked.

β€œYeah, why?” She said.

β€œYou had a funny look on your face.” I said.

β€œYes, I am just, concentrating on something.” She said. I wanted to know what, so without trying to be nosey I said,

β€œCan I ask what?” Then the most wonderful sound come out of her. It was like listening to a million tiny bells at ones. She was laughing. So mesmerized by her laugh, I almost didn’t hear what she said next.

β€œI just get nervous around lots of people. To put it nicely.” She said. What did she mean by that? I stood there, trying to understand what that meant. Then the bus came. I got on bored and didn’t look back.
