Darija exclaimed practically jumping out of the bed.

β€œRelax, everything is going to be fine. I sent a letter to your grandmother and she is completely understanding. I also sent a few of my men to go and get your personal affects.”
She leaned back onto the pillows. Why do I have to stay here? Is Shade staying here too?
Vlad turned towards the door and looked back at her.
"I'm sure you will find your place here, but for now, get some rest." and with that he left closing the door behind him.

She swung her legs off the bed and stood up. Walking over to the window she ooked out onto the school grounds. It was beautiful. The walls were made of stone. It looked like a castle from what she could see. The castle grounds were greener than the greenest green. The trees were full and students were studying, practicing sword play, riding horses and casting spells.

Wait a minute... Darija looked back the gravel circle where two students what looked to be dueling, but with magery. Darija's jaw dropped when one student, a girl with long blonde hair, threw what looked to be an icicle spear at the other student.

The other student ducked and threw up his arms producing a blue electric force field in front of him, effectively blocking the spear. He then stood up and bowed. The girl returned the bow and then they both left laughing.

Placing her hands on the window sill, Darija observed the rest of the grounds as far as she could see. On the other side of the large field was a line of trees, thick and forboding looking.
