“She’s Demetrius’ progeny.”

His dad did not have to say anymore. Demetrius had saved his dad’s life many years ago and because of that, Josiah vowed to help Demetrius in any way he could. Creed would honor his father’s wishes.

“Now I understand.” Creed stated as he tried to stand up but his father urged him to sit back down. “There’s more?”

“Demetrius was married to her twin sister, Magna. They shared a daughter together that he never met because he died

in a field outside of Transylvania the night his daughter was born. Kristof, Demetrius’ maker, found him and decided to turn him. A year later, Demetrius went back to check on his family but came across Willow first. She had been tortured, raped, and buried alive. When he found her, she was seconds from death. He didn’t know if his venom would be strong enough to save her because he was new himself.”

Josiah stood and stretched before continuing. “He bit her several times to inject as much venom as he could while he carried Willow to where Kristof was. Kristof bit her as well. She did turn but Kristof and Demetrius both share the maker’s bond with her.”

“Wow…That’s a new one. I’ve never heard of a vampire having two makers.”

“Can you imagine what it must be like for Demetrius?”

“What do you mean?”

“His wife is long gone but every day for four-hundred years her identical twin walks the earth reminding him what he has lost. It must be a personal hell for him. Anyways look after Willow when she is at school. Be nice to her but remember not to let on that Demetrius asked us to look after her.”

He watched his father limp out of the barn. Creed followed. “Dad, it sounds like that Demetrius and Kristof want us to protect her without her knowing. Why? What or Whom is after her?”

“I don’t know. I did not want to pry. But I’m like you, I think there is more to this than Demetrius is telling.”

Creed stopped and let his father walk into the house alone. While he was happy to help Demetrious, he had to wonder what Demetrius was hiding. He sincerely hoped that whatever Demetrius was up to it would not put his father or the rest of the pack in danger. His father’s health was declining and Creed did not know if he was strong enough to take over as pack master if his father was hurt.

Creed howled signaling to his dad he was going for a run. He tore his clothes off as his transition began. His body began to tingle along the spine, his appendages realigned and bent into position, hair grew in rapidly and his eyes adjusted to the night. The overall sensation and transformation of changing was quick. It took less than a minute.

Once in wolf form he ran for the trees and howled for his friends to join him…
