"Jaz! What the heck?! We're going to be late!" She heard her brother screaming at the other side of the door then there was a thump followed by an oomp then some paper scruffling.
Despite of what she was feeling she managed to smile. She was grateful her brother was here and even though he didn't know it, he was helping her.
"I'm coming!" She replied. Her voice was hoarse. Shaking her head, she did what she had to do. She settled with a t-shirt topped with a hoodie and a jeans that hugged her long legs.
As soon as they arrived at school, she bolted like a mad man being chased by the devil. His brother frowned- he's doing it a lot lately don't you think?
"Time's up! Pass your papers," Ms. Mayette broke the silence as the student started to rise from their chairs and grab their bags, handing the paper on their way out.
"And remember! Any of you gets an F on this test . . . It will be my life's mission to make sure that you will stay right on the straight path towards success and learning!" Ms. May said dramatically. From the looks of it she was saying it to the whole class in general but based on the pointed look she was giving Jasmine she knows she was the one she was talking to.
She rolled her eyes. It was as if she cared. Huffing, she stood and grab her bag. She hand the paper to the teacher.
"Remember what I said, Thorne," she spoke softly.
She nodded. "Sure, okay," she said just to get the teacher off her back.
"I'm not kidding when I said that. Another F and you'll fail this year's math."
She did not reply. She turn her back and made her way towards the cafeteria. As she sat on the table she popped one Advil in her mouth and swallow it straight up.
She held her head in her hands and massaged her temple in a circular motion.
"Hey, babe." An arm draped around her as she felt a breath on her ear. "So, last night was great and I was just wondering if you would like to go to tonight's party? Same time, same place?"
She internally groaned. It was fucking Elijah Carter! "Fuck you, Carter. I told you not to call me babe!" She mumbled. "And get your fucking hands off me." She shrugged his hands off.
Eli shrugged and moved his hand under the table, down to her thighs and travel upwards.
"I'm gonna kill you if you don-" the threat hanged in the air when she saw her brother entering the cafeteria. "Get away from me! Quick!" She shushed him when he started to protest. She shoved him away and he just laugh and walk away.
"Hey, is that Eli?" Was the first thing that came out from Lexus.
She shifted uncomfortably. "Uhh, yeah," she admitted sheepishly. "He was just asking why I didn't go to the party last night."
"Oh." He nodded thoughtfully. "So! . . ." Lexus exclaimed after a moment of silence. "I got in the football team," he said, trying to make a conversation.
"Really?" She asked, and genuinely smiled. He nodded. She was really happy for her brother. At least he was living a good life and she prayed that his mate won't turn out to be a bitch or something.
At least one of them is happy.
A loud popped rang throughtout the room.
She winced.
Fucking hangover.
