Reverend Benchley who thus far hadn't made himself heard spoke. He did so in a grave, yet conciliatory tone.
"My fellowmen," he started, "this may be painful for you to learn, but I must confess; it is they, not I, who are right. Harry did request that no memorial service be arranged. And I have erred, doubly so. First, by contravening his will, and second, or should I say foremost, by misjudging his honesty. Although not a parishioner of mine, Harry had very high ideals, Cosmic Love was his faith. This should serve as a lesson to all of us. We ought to welcome these kindly strangers and ask them for forgiveness. They are like the Bible's archangels, and their message couldn't be clearer. What is the use of going to church if we remain intolerant of other people's beliefs?"
The minister stretched out his hand to Anita Jason and to her two elder companions. He then concluded by saying, "Part of Harry lives on in each of you. We consider you as part of our extended family." Imprint
