eyes met, I saw him tense and jump back a bit.
"Holy shit!" He put his hand on his gun.
I felt my eyes widen as I sat up, holding his eyes.
"Don't move or I'll shoot." He murmured as he finally unclipped his gun from his holster and raised it.
Instead of backing away like I should have done, I held my ground and didn't look away from his gaze. I don't know what was wrong with me but I refused to back down even when he was threatening me with a gun.
Suddenly, a German shepherd came running at me full speed and jumped unto my chest knocking me down and effectively knocking the breath out of me. Frantically, I tried to keep the dog from snapping at my face as I struggled to even breath with the massive dog pressing his two front paws against my chest. His teeth snapped inches away from my neck as I pushed against him with my forearms and kicked with my legs. I finally screamed when the dog sunk his teeth into my left forearm drawing streams of crimson blood.
"Kobe, yield!" A familiar voice yelled from somewhere above me. Dave appeared above me and pulled at the dogs collar trying to get it to let go of my forearm.  "Shit, Aislynn. Are you okay?"
"I uh... I..." I didn't know what to say. My heart was slamming itself against my ribcage and I was still trying to catch my breath.
"Damn it, Dave, what the hell is going on?" the police officer put his gun back into his holster. Why is there a god damned vampire here in the park at 3:30 am?!β€œ
Vampire? What the-
My thoughts were interrupted by Dave who was talking to me. "C'mon answer me."
"Huh?β€œ I asked as my head began to spin again. I put my head into my hands as I sat up and knotted that I had blood running down my arm but there were no longer any bite marks.
"Kobe, you might as well switch back to normal." Dave said as he moved my hands from my head. "let me see your head. Did you hit it?"
I watched in horror as Kobe the German Shepherd grew twice his size then turned into a fully clothed human man just a few years older than me. I started to freak out and scramble back but Dave grabbed my arms and kept me in place while he inspected my porcelain smooth skin where all the blood was.
I didn't think it was possible but now my heart was beating faster as I fought against Dave's grip on my arm.  "No! Let me go! Let. Me. Go. Now!" I punched him in the throat and scrambled up and back and ended up doubled over in pain as my head spun and my stomach began to feel like it was burning.
Dave began to reach forward but froze as yelled, "Don't touch me!" My vision went black and it felt as if the whole world shifted under my feet.
And then it was blank. Chapter 4: This Is Why You Don't Point a Gun At A Vampling

 Unknown POV

"You see, Andre this is why you don't point a gun at a vampling, she hasn't even tasted blood yet. Even though she craves blood, she won't go after you because she doesn't know what she wants yet." I raved throwing my hands in the air and pacing behind my desk
"Mark, calm down" Kobe said from his corner of the room.
"Don't tell me to-" I began.
"Kobe's right. You need to calm down." Dave spoke from his seat in front of my desk.
I was outraged but reluctantly sat down. "Okay, so, the vampling is asleep right?" I didn't wait for the answer just kept talking. "For the sake of all of our lives you better hope she's not traumatized by all of this. You know how powerful vampires can be when they're out of control and even more so when they're in control. They're the most powerful of all the supernatural beings but they often keep to themselves. I was surprised when you called me and told me that you found a vampling. And here in New York of all places..."
"So was I. I mean, damn, and she was one of the nicest and most normal people I've ever seen. It took me until a few days ago to realize that she was a vampling. At first, I thought she was just some stray run away kid who couldn't take living with her evil step parent so she ran away. But then I saw how well she fended for herself. She would pickpocket wealthy looking men and if she was caught she could usually talk her way out of it. But that was all of the biokinesis I've seen her use." Dave stated
"She sounds astounding." I murdered thoughtfully to myself. I had yet to even see her but she already baffled me and gave me something to think about.
"How come if she's so powerful, why did she look so weak and helpless when Kobe had her pinned down?" Andre asked.
"Because she was scared and Andre was snapping at her neck. If I hadn't of drug Kobe off of she she might have done something drastic." Dave said as he looked pointedly at Kobe who just shrugged.
"I think we should put her into Briar Crest Academy." I said.
"Where else are we going to put the little monster?β€œ Dave asked.
Andre frowned, Kobe smiled and I shrugged as I picked up the phone and dialed a number I knew by heart.
"Briar Crest Academy, how may I help you?" A woman answered on the third ring.
"Hey Penelope, I need to speak to principal Devon please." I said.
"Right away, sir." She answered.
