from the advancing formation. The Enforcers weren’t messing around indeed, they were here to eliminate who ever stood in there war path. Suddenly I unfroze, realizing that they were in trouble now. They couldn’t keep that speed up forever. I took in my resources; I had in my pockets; a packet of bubble gum, some rubber bands and some paddle pop sticks. Not the best arsenal that I could go into battle with, I needed something more powerful. Something that would give us the time needed to form a plan of attack… Then I spotted it over near a rock, there sitting on the ground was the backpack that Dan had been packing full of the stones. Suddenly a plan started to form in my mind, it was crazy but I might just work and buy us some of that much needed time. I ran over to the bag looking for two stones I had seen before, where were they!?! I swear I would kill Dan after this, his ‘sorting system’ SUCKED! I finally found the stones I was looking for, one which was bright orange and the other peppery black. Ten of each, not much ammo but it would have to do. I took out all of my pocket materials and started chewing the bubblegum, not for pleasure but I need it to be sticky. As I ordered my materials I took a quick look over my shoulder to find that the boys were against a wall trying to fend off the multi-pronged attack that the Enforcers where preforming. I looked back at my task knowing that I was running out of time, the boys obviously had slowed down quite a lot sooner or later they would be hit by the extremely efficient attacks. I broke the sticks slightly so that didn’t break but would if push came to shove, I then but it them in the rubber bands, on in each. I then applied the chewing gum to each side of the rubber band, and then applied the stones to each side of the stick and onto the bubblegum, sticking them in place. All the while I was doing this the boys kept slowing down and took some side glances from the Enforcers weapons but thankfully there were serious damage. As I stood up I took my five new weapons and raced towards them to help. A good thirty meters away I threw my first device, it made a small whistling sound before the group of Enforcer’s bundle of men. For a second nothing happened, but after that first few awkward seconds of the soldiers realizing that I was there and had thrown something at them were try to organize themselves to go after me but the device finally activated.

BOOM!!!!!

A small explanation is in order, what I threw was primitive but very effect hand grenade, whist in the air the stick had snapped allowing the rubber band to spring together, causing the four stones to come together (two of each type). These stones were the ones I had messed with earlier and it had created an explosion. Now with two of each of these stones in each grenade it caused a bigger more deadly explosion. With four more of these explosives under my command I didn’t look so unprepared anymore.

The effect was massive, the Enforcers staggered under the explosion giving Dan and James the time they needed to launch their own counter attacks, with the compact force suddenly missing a few of its soldiers the rest of them crumbled from the attacks of James and Dan. Whenever it looked like they were banding together again I would send another one of my homemade grenades in.  Not soon after all the soldiers were on the ground, ether from the attacks of the boys or from my newly made weapons.

“Well that was easier than I thought it would be” I stated, that unfortunately got me death stares from both James and Dan before they both said in sync “Ow no you just didn’t”.

I didn’t realize the stupidity of my mistake until I remember that whenever you are dealing with something like war or anything like that in general it’s a bad idea, mainly because it instantly gets worse. Of cause this phrase lived up to its name, because just then there was another massive explosion. On the other side of the cave there was a massive hole where stone usually stood. Out of this hole that had been formed came forty Enforcers with two people dressed in all white instead of the normal black leading them.

“Ow Kangaroo Dung not those guys” spat Dan, James just continued to give me the evil eye until I replied with a weak “sorry”

The soldiers fanned out and started running towards us, with melee weapons. They obviously knew their guns wouldn’t work.

“There’s nothing we can do about it now, looks like we have to fight. I hope you understand we can’t help you in a fight, look after yourself.”

As we set up in a formation with Dan in the middle and James on the right and me on the left. I realized that this wouldn’t be an easy fight. These new figures seemed to be different from the run of the mill solider; they looked more elite and powerful. All I could was watch as they advanced towards us with their soldiers running ahead.

Chapter 7: Thunder Prince

As the group of soldiers ran towards me I suddenly felt a jolt behind me, like a shock of electricity. I turned around to see a man in a long black trench coat with streaks of yellow in zigzags running down it and a hoodie that hid his face, the hoodie had a monsters face over it. He also had massive headphones around his ears.

“Looks like you guys need some help” he stated bluntly, there was something electrifying about his voice and mysterious presence.

“Luckily you have me” he smiled as he grabbed my arm in his left hand and James and Dan in his right hand before yelling “God Speed”

For the second time in the past few days

Everything

Went

Sideways.

The group awoke in comfortable beds in a Tavern far away from the healing cavern which had been there home for the short time they had been there.

The new comer was the first awake, he was obviously tired from his magic but he got out of the creaky wooden bed and slowly, almost drunkenly walked down the stairs to the bar. The normal heat and smell of sweat greeted him but he didn’t seem to mind it. He proceeded to the bar. He took a stool from lowered himself onto it with a small grown of pain before looking up at the bar tender. They both nodded, obviously they were well acquainted. The bartender was in his mid-thirties with a slight pot belly and a newly shaven beard.

“So Jacob, what do you think about our cats that you have dragged in?” started the bartender.

“Well Jack, how about you hit me with water with some lemons in it?” He replied curtly “I’ve just travelled one hundred kilometers in a blink of an eye and the fatigue has already kicked in.”

Jack just grunted before walking behind a small enclave away from his bar, after some muffled movement he returned with a jug of water and some cups. Jacob heard the small rattle of something in the water and to his delight he realized it was ice.

As if knowing what he was going to ask Jack quickly said “There was an Ice wielder that came through here about two days ago, he made a small fridge for me so I can get ice for a little while. In other word drink up while it lasts.”

He placed the jug of water and a cup in front of Max and proceeded to squeeze a lemon’s juice into the jug, before pouring both Max and himself a drink. They tapped there class together then drank both muttering sighs as the icy water made their brains wake up. They didn’t speak for a moment, still savoring the cool refreshment but after a bit the coolness had disappeared. So Jacob started the story from his point of view;

“Basically the girl upstairs has caused some fuss with the big shots, so I was sent in to help them get out of there little problem with the Enforcers.” At the mention of the human force the bartender huffed with displeasure, he obviously wasn’t a fan of the Enforcers.

“Anyway all I was told was to get the out of there then I would be briefed on what to do next.”

“How long do you think she can last?” the bartender asked

Jacob thought for a minute before replying “I don’t know she has the two hunters on her side so it’s hard to say but if I had to guess I would say, with all the feathers she’s ruffing up, probably ten days max. Of cause that’s only if they don’t send in the supers after her.” He stopped for a minute as a big man walked up to the bar and order another whiskey bottle for his table before paying and going back to his comrades. Both Jack and Jacob watched him go to a safe distance before continuing, “Of cause I don’t know what I am going to be doing so I can’t tell you how long she will last.”

Jack nodded agreement, “I think your right on the mark with that assumption but I would give her eleven days due to the fact that the Enforcers don’t know where you shifted her to.

“Fair enough, now I’m going to go back to bed before I pass out. By the way keep an eye out for the dude in the back left corner of the tavern, he has a bottle of whiskey under his coat which I assume he didn’t pay for.”

With that he started walking back up the stairs to the bedrooms as the bartender casually called over one of his people and pointed out what Jacob had seen.

-12 hours later-

-Dan-

I woke up to certain wolf man in full wolf from gnawing at my foot with Zoe smiling at me, man that was embarrassing. I tried to pull me foot away from James only to find I couldn’t, he must have his paws on my foot too. Well now I had to wake him up even though I knew he needed sleep, just as I was about to use my other foot to kick the little pest off end of my bed I felt Zoe tap my shoulder. I looked at her and she showed me a small wooden piece and handed it to me, all the while smirking and trying not to laugh. I gave her a look that said Tell no one before using the stick as a substitute to my foot. After I was out of bed I walked into the hall with her, still smiling an evil smile.

As the door shut she started saying “That was so cute!” but I cut her off with “Not a word” before walking off towards the bar. She ran after me trying to hide her smile before continuing

“Aww come on he may be a wolf man but he’s still
