“I can release her?” Silos asked, his ears perking up.
“I wouldn’t recommend it. Freeing slaves isn't that difficult, but once somebody is branded as a slave, it’s hard to return to society. It’s better if you keep her. Letting her go would mean she would be enslaved by somebody else and live a difficult life. Don’t do that to her.” Jaxson instructed him.
“You’re right. Anyways, may I ask if you have any solutions to the problem at hand?” He asked, directing the conversation off Tina.
“I have some thoughts, but nothing concrete. That dealer-” He leaned in and whispered in his ear. “-has some kind of teleporting skill. We need to find a way to neutralize that skill.”
“I may have an idea about that. Give me some time and I’ll figure out a way to snatch him.” Jaxson nodded, watching as Silos ran off towards his home where Tina and the pups waited for him. At his home, he called out to Calantha, begging her to appear.
A floating light orb emerged from thin air, materializing into Calantha. She looked confused at why she was called.
Silos jumped right to the point. “Is there any way to neutralize Hillain’s teleportation skill? Does the spear do anything to it?”
“I see,” She stroked her chin. “I can grant you a skill that will neutralize the skill, but I’ll need something to exchange it for.”
Silos patted his pockets and looked away, glancing at Tina and the pups. “What do you want in exchange?”
Calantha smirked, shaking her head. “How about we talk in the future about it. For now-” She silently blessed Silos with the skill Null. “-I’ll grant you this. However, my part of the exchange will be fulfilled.”
“I understand that, thank you Calantha for this skill.” She smiled and waved bye as her appearance disintegrated, leaving behind nothing. Silos then turned around and ran to the door. He grabbed the doorknob and turned it.
“Can I come?” Tina’s whisper-tone barely made it through his ears. He turned around and noticed her pleading eyes. She wanted to along with him, instead of staying home and babysitting the pups. She wanted to be of assistance.
After some hesitation, Silos nodded, allowing her to follow him. They ran towards the ABG headquarters, leaving the pups in the house.
At the headquarters, Silos and Tina met with Dominik and the others. There, Dominik handed him the latest intel, showing Hillain’s hiding place. He had moved into Silos’s old hut without anybody noticing. Armed with this knowledge, they rushed to move into place. Silos activated Null immediately, cutting off Hillain’s teleportation skill. The others, fortunately, knew of his new skill, surrounding the hut with confidence.
“We got you surrounded! Come out with your hands up or else we’ll have to get dirty.” Dominik shouted, brandishing a longsword.
Hira and Ayaz stood on the opposite sides, armed with their weapons. They watched as shifty eyes peered out of the hut at them. “You’re done, Hillain. Try to teleport, it won’t get you anywhere.”
Hillain attempted to teleport but Silos’ Null prevented that. Without the ability to teleport and being surrounded, he gave up. He left the hut with his hands up, being arrested quickly.
They took him back to the headquarters and revealed the dealer to the public. A public execution order was swiftly put into place.
However, before the execution could be finalized, they needed to torture any information out of him. The defeated man gave up since he saw no ways out; His eyes seemed dead and lifeless. Perhaps it was constant contact with the Death Night drug that took his spirit out of his body, but, no matter what, his lips were sealed. He looked to be on the verge of death, but he still had an iron will, barring secrets from leaving him. He didn’t give up anything during the two-day process, being executed on the third day.
After his death, antidotes were mass-produced and given to those affected to the infected, but the dead couldn’t be revived. They were either burned or buried. The third day wasn’t joyous.
Meanwhile, Silos stayed at home. He was tired and couldn’t think straight. Defeating Hillain had taken everything from him, proving to be more draining than he thought. Surrounded by his pups and Tina, he slept peacefully for two days. He needed that time to recharge his mana.
As for Luther, Rachel, and Nikki, they continued as normal. They proved to be the first people to return to normal. However, they were affected by the drug as its scent had found itself in their homes. Thankfully, the scent wasn’t strong and the antidotes were produced quickly.
The rest of the village returned to normal, a month later. The remaining drugs were discovered and destroyed. The effects of the drugs were gone from everybody’s body, reverting the village into a peaceful and prosperous village that it used to be. Everything returned to normal because of Silos’s appearance. He proved himself multiple times and did everything to help the village. He was an important existence. He was the guardian of Arkshaw.
Hello All!
Silos S1 is finally over. This has been a fun series to write. Originally, this series was meant to be generic and be another addition to this universe, but characters such as Calantha, Tina, and a few others created something different---none of the characters mentioned were in the original plan for this series. The Japanese influence is very prominent in this series, so I hope you enjoyed it. In the future, this influence will appear but won’t be very prevalent.
For those who enjoyed this series, it’s been renewed for a second season and a short-story installment. Release dates for these installments will be announced in the future. Make sure to look out for those installments whenever they arrive on this website.
That’s all for today, so, until next time, I bid you a good day.
