Cambria landed the eager eagle on the edge of the yellow cloud.
Without delay Foster reached down and grabbed a handful of pixie dust then sprinkled the yellow dust on his broken wing.
The wing glowed brightly. Foster furiously flapped the wings and flew off the back of the eagle.
Then as fast as the fastest wind fairy Foster flew circles around the cloud.
The wind wildly swirled spinning the cloud of yellow pixie dust faster and faster.
The powerful pixie dust flew all about the swirling wind and rained down on the soggy soil of the kingdom of fairies.
All the fairy friends shouted with joy and began to flutter their wings as the dust floated all around them and landed on their wings. Soon, all the fairies of the fairy kingdom were flying all about happily with the host of birds.
King Midir excitedly shouted, โMy Queen! My darling Queen you live.โ
โWhere am I my King?โ asked Queen Findabhair as she looked around in confusion.
โYou, you and I and our fairy friends are back in our fairy kingdom.โ
โWhen did weโฆwhat happenedโฆI mean I rememberโโ
โHush my darling,โ King Midir sweetly whispered, โnone of that matters now: For we are home.โ
Lilith looked to the king and queen. She went to her lovely Lilly and lifted her into her arms and stepped up to them.
โKing Midir and Queen Findabhair,โ Lilith said as she bowed, โmy name is Lilith and this is my daughter Lilly. Over there is my husband Lawrence. We are simple humans. My husband is a fisher of the sea and I am a simple gardener.โ
King Midir helped Queen Findabhair up to her feet with a hand and a hug.
โOn behalf of my King and I, the whole kingdom of the fairies thank you for rescuing us from the darkness in which we were imprisoned.โ
Lilith listened carefully as Foster translated the bells into words. Then she proclaimed, โIt was my daughter Lilly who rescued you: For she was the first human for over a thousand seasons that was given joy by our Creator.โ
Queen Findabhair smiled and hovered up to Lillyโs face and gave the lovely little Lilly a sweet kiss on the cheek, โThank you precious child.โ
Foster came swooping in and landed on the shoulder of the lovely little Lilly. โAll is well my King and Queen?โ
โAnd as far as Foster, he is the one that you should especially thank: For without him Lilly would not have known what to do.โ
โFoster, for we are indeed both thankful and grateful for what you have done,โ King Midir chimed in as he came hovering up to Queen Findabhair.
โNo my King, the thanks goes to our Father: For he made me a finder fairy and I just performed my duty as he willed. His kingdom of the fairies has been restored as well as his kingdom of the humans.โ
โKing Midir and Queen Findabhair,โ said Lawrence as he came forward, โI am the husband of Lilith and the father of Lilly. As my wife has told you I am but a simple fisherman but I feel I can speak freely: For after that very horrible, horrible day, my anscestors decided never to have a king stand before us; we only have elders. Therefore, I beg that our relationship in the past be restored, that we work separately in helping each other.โ
โBy the truth and the will of our Father,โ announced queen Findabhair, โit shall be so.โ
Foster translated the Queen's words for all the humans to hear.
Lovely little Lilly giggled and laughed.
The fairy friends flying all about the air rejoiced with shouts of glee.
Foster, with tears of joy trickling down his cheeks flew high into the crystal blue sky.
โFather, I believe you hear me. Now I know that you created me as a finder fairy to find the lost kingdom of the fairies and humans. And now I know Father that I did so for you to save them from the darkness they were in. And Fatherโโ
Suddenly the sky exploded with a great boom of thunder and the flash of a brilliant bright light. A stream of yellow pixie dust speckled with blue pixie dust crystals came flowing from the heavens and into the pixie tree that Loxie had grown.
โMy child,โ a voice rumbled, โto every end there is a beginning.โ
Foster looked up to the crystal blue sky and smiled. โAnd both are you Father.โ
The Restoration of the FairiesSo my children, I hope you were not too saddened by the story. As I told you from the beginning, I did not want to make you sadโno, far from it.
Understand that the story, from the fall of my fairy and human children to the restoration of both, had to be told: For the story was written by the truth that I created.
My children, you may be wondering why the vile creature was created. After all, if it did not exist and had the power of choice, there never would have been a horrible, horrible day. And because of that horrible, horrible day there was much suffering.
Well, the answer is found in your very own hearts my children. You see, while there was that horrible, horrible day which brought suffering and heartache to both my fairy and human children, it was my fairy and human children that overcame such horrible events.
You see, just like you my children, the warmth and care and love I created in the hearts of both my fairy and human children was the reason why the horrendous beginning turned into a happy ending.
So, you may also be wondering what became of my fairy and human children.
To begin with I tell you that Lilith and Lawrence and lovely little Lilly returned home in happiness. They, and the other humans that helped rescue and return my fairy children buried in darkness, went away knowing that help from the kingdom of the fairies would be restored.
Lawrence, the husband of Lilith and father of lovely little Lilly, knew that his and his human friends days of hard labor would come to an end. Just knowing that his fairy friends, as in the days of old, would relieve their burdens had his heart singing songs of praises. Now, he spends just days on a mighty boat casting his mighty net and catching enough fish that could feed the entire village for an entire season.
Lilith knew that the days of hard labor were coming to an end. The days of constantly chasing away wily weeds and perilous pests that pestered the sparse amount of sprouting fruit trees and vegetables growing in her small ghastly garden would give way to just leisurely days of harvesting. When Foster stirred up the dust in the yellow pixie cloud and sprinkled it onto the human lands the dust brought back the farmland in which the garden fairies would again sow and grow the most delicious and nutritious foods. The mere thought brought a smile to Lilithโs heart. Nowadays she and her human friends spend their time harvesting such delicious food as sweet sticks of red carrots and tasty vine ripe tomatoes and orbs of tangy oranges.
And lovely little Lilly and her heart of gold, went away as giddy as a girl could get. And while she still sneaks off on sunny spring and summer days to the farmland the fairy friends tend, Lilith lets her with love in her heart: For Lilith knows lovely little Lilly goes to visit and play with Foster not because they can now speak with one another in the language of the humans, but for another reason. Lilith and some of the humans and fairies believe that Lilly and Foster have a brother and sister relationship since it was Lillyโs laughter that touched my heart to bring Foster into the world. Whether or not a fairy and huma could be brother and sister, I am not sayingโThen again, I will say it is possible but I will let you be the judge of that.
Then there is Foster. Foster is my child to whom I gave all talents and the power to choose. He spends his days lending a helping hand wherever he can. Whether it is with Solange in growing the garden, with Leena in winding up the wind, with Loxie in loading lumber, with Cambria in meeting the mice or helping any other fairy friend Foster keeps himself busy. But, he is still my only finder fairy, and at times he swoops away searching for lost little creatures now and thenโHmm, I am not going to tell you but do you think he takes time to go find Lilly to play with now and then?
Solange goes about fulfilling her talent with an abundance of joy in her heart. She does so because in remembering that horrible, horrible day, she knows that the seeds of darkness can be sown at anytime but can also be overcome with light of love. And Solange keeps that light of live in her heart: For it is the love of such fairy friends as Foster and Leena and Loxie.
Leena is doing better than ever. Leena remembers too well how she longed to bring about soothing breezes on sizzling summer days, crisp currents of cool air on frigid fall days, and refreshing wind on spring days sprouting with yellow and blue and red and purple wildflowers. Now, she and her wind fairy friends work extra hard at creating all the wind in the world.
And whenever a host of hunting hawks is spotted, Leena knows to cry out to Cambria and her animal fairy friends. Cambria and her animal fairy friends experience joy as they gather yellow canaries and blue birds and red Robbins and blackbirds and white owls and silly little sparrows and eager eagles together to pester the hunting hawks and chase them away.
Loxie, for lovingly rebuilding the land of his fairy friends and the village in which they lived and worked and played, received a special reward by King Midir and Queen Findabhair: For his deeds he received the Golden Hammer by which he leads his fellow tinkers in tinkering with all that is needed. And now, Loxie being a master tinker, there is not a tool to be tailored that has not been made or a house to be hoisted that has not been built.
And King Midir and Queen Findabhair being the finest king and queen, they now go strictly by the truths that I set before them and treat the fairy friends with love and respect always. In fact, the queen being taken over by the creature once has made it known to the king to be on the lookout for such trickery from the creature again. And the king has requested that the queen be on the lookout as well.
And so ends the story my children, but before I go I must leave you with a warning: The creature still lives.
I will not tell you when and if the creature decides to come back into the world I created. Nor, will I tell you what form the creature will take next time around to create yet another horrible, horrible day.
If the creature comes again just know that like that horrible, horrible day it
