hard times. It was a song that had been one of my close friends favorite songs. However, this friend had killed himself not too long ago. All I knew was that if Shani woke up then we would have to change it. He had been a close friend of hers to.

During the first few weeks after his suicide, she had been a mess. Refused to talk to anyone, barely ate, basically stayed in her room the whole time. No one knew how to cope with it, or handle it. It was hard to know what to do because she was always so strong and confident, to see her breakdown was unbearable. This was most of the reason that I needed this to go well, for everyone’s sake and sanity. I fought to keep the tears back as the last thing I needed was to start crying and have those emotions take over in my body as well. I needed serious focus through this crucial time and no distractions.

β€œHey X” he glanced at me β€œYou mind changing it please? Just in case Shani wakes up” He gave me a look but then seemed to understand. He changed then looked back at me just as I was wiping tears out of my eyes. I met his eyes and he gave me a half smile. I nodded, an unspoken understanding was there. I hated crying and he knew that. He was the only one who had ever seen me cry besides Shani, and that hadn’t been since I was seven. The next song that came on, was some rap song and  let myself drift through the lyrics that I didn’t even catch on to. This was more what I needed.
