“Oh no!” Syx snarled, “You better not be putting me in with them!” She backed up stumbling into the Shock Knights crowding behind her. She twisted and tried to wrestle past them. They held her fast.
I sighed, “That’s not why I brought you here, Syx.”
“You didn’t?” Syx said warily, her glowing gold eyes burning brighter than usual.
“No. You’re the one who told me these guardswomen can’t be changed back. You said you’ve seen it before.”
“And?”
“And…” I sighed and leaned toward her.
“What?” she pulled back frowning.
“I was going to whisper something private. I didn’t want to be rude.”
“Fine. Whisper away.”
I leaned forward and smelled her hair by accident. It was smokey, like a campfire on a cool summer night, and oddly erotic in a powerful way, almost like pheromones. I brushed aside my arousal and whispered, “I was thinking, since you sort of look like them, and you’re one of the best soldiers here, maybe they might come around like you have?”
“Come around?” Syx snorted, pulling away. “Who said I came around? I just work here. Because I don’t have a choice.” Syx’s glowing gold eyes shifted to the hexagonal window and she snarled, “Would you ladies stop?”
I followed her gaze and saw the white demon guardswomen licking the glass with sensual strokes of their off-white tongues, leering at Syx like they knew her. One of them was giving a blowjob to the tail of another one. A third was using her tail pointing forward between her legs to fuck a fourth doggie style from behind. It was a regular sex show.
“Join us,” purred the demon woman getting done doggie style. She was pressing her bulging breasts and tight, off-white nipples against the window as she moaned. She counter-thrust languidly backward against the demon behind her with every stroke.
The demon behind purred, “Come in here so I can skruck you too…”
“NO!” Syx barked, her golden eyes firing momentarily.
Every off-white demon babe flinched in response.
Slightly more calmly, Syx snorted nervously, “Go away already. And stop skrucking each other. It’s gross.”
I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was gross.
Amazingly, as if Syx were their queen, the sex show stopped and the demon women wandered away from the window to pace around the hexagonal holding cell indifferently and incredibly calmly.
“Did you just…” I chuckled. “They just did exactly what you told them. They won’t listen to anybody. The guards keep telling me to put them out of their misery before they kill someone or eat their way through the walls. Now they’re calm. Because you… Corporal Syx, these women just followed your orders.”
“They did?” she snickered in disbelief.
“How else would you explain it?”
“I don’t know,” she shrugged.
“I thought you said nothing could be done for these women.”
“From what I’ve seen, usually it can’t. This is a surprise to me too.”
“Hmm,” I nodded thoughtfully. “What if something can be done for them? Corporal Syx, what do you think about having your own Special Ops platoon?”
“What,” she laughed, “me leading them?”
“Just a suggestion,” I said, wondering if this was a terrible idea, but also secretly fascinated by the erotic possibilities. Ahem. I meant combat possibilities. To be fair, if Syx was promoted to command her own elite team of badass demon babes who handled my most dangerous missions, that would go a long way to improving the status of Corporal Syx and every “Monster” babe at the outpost.
“I’ll think about it,” Syx said seriously, gazing at the demon women through the glass.
“No rush,” I said. “Give it some thought. I don’t need an answer right away. But I do need your help tonight in the jungle.”
“Does it involve sex?” she snarked.
“No,” I chuckled. “I already told you I need a guide. And it will involve guns.”
“Not yours, I hope.” She glanced at the crotch of my uniform.
“No,” I chortled at her innuendo. “Let’s go.”
—: Chapter 97 :—
Thirty minutes later, I was outside with Corporal Syx, Captain Theia, and my erotic entourage of 50 Shock Knights. Theia insisted all 50 come along for everyone’s safety. I didn’t argue.
We were gathered together atop the landing deck under the purple night sky, wearing our power armor with our visors down, and holding the ABR-17 bolt rifles we had checked out from the Armory.
I already knew that going out in the Zalaxian jungle at night looking for Violet was flirting with disaster — Terrorsaurs and worse — but when else was I going to go? I had too many responsibilities at the outpost during the day.
Heavy is the head—
Shut up, Shakespeare.
“Y’all ready to ride?” I said in my best cowboy drawl while holding my ABR-17 in one hand with the barrel pointing skyward.
“Ride what, my king?” Captain Theia said quizzically over comms. “Would you rather we fly skimmers instead of using our power armor?”
“No,” I chuckled. “I meant horses.”
“Horses, my king? What are horses?”
I laughed, “Okay, as soon as they get Bree fixed, and assuming she still has a copy of the internet from my home planet, we’re going to have movie night and y’all are gonna sit with me and watch the best cowboy western ever made. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.”
The faces of Syx and the Shock Knights showing in the comms windows floating in my helmet HUD all had blank looks.
“Nobody?” I said in frustration. “Does Zalaxia even have movies?”
“Movies, my king?” Theia asked.
“Moving pictures. Fictional video stories about awesome things that never happened. People get together and make them. Someone writes a script. Actors put on costumes. They film, I mean record the actors doing what’s in the script. It’s all made up. Fake. Fictional. Purely for entertainment.”
“He means mythies,” Syx said dryly over comms.
“Mythies?” I chuckled. “I guess that pretty much fits. Do your mythies have stories about good guys, I mean good men chasing around bad men and bringing them to justice?”
“Good women,” a random Shock Knight said.
“The men area always bad,” said another Shock Knight. “Same as in real life. Except
