Christ, I can’t wait to make this man beg.
“I think you’re lying to me because it smells and looks like it to me.” Any person within a mile radius can sniff how he doesn’t want to die. It stinks like a man who knows he fucked up. A man craving notoriety in the Bureau to bring an empire to the ground that he went after the wrong person to seek help.
Victoria sat in the room scared shitless, yet so damn brave and gorgeous wearing a black polka dot dress, that once she stood, my knees went weak from getting a glimpse of that lush, curvy body. Thick midnight hair piled on top of her head with a bright red headband, and those eyes of hers wanting to cry over every word spewing out of Agent Wozniak’s mouth. But I saw the shadowy hint of revenge glimmering behind them—those pretty wings flapping just a little to show that peak of darkness I’ve known she’s always had.
A fierce angel that’s going to fall, and I’ve waited a long time to watch her finally admit she has a dark side just like me. Once she lands, I’ll be there to catch her no matter how many times she pushes me away.
It makes my dick twitch thinking about it.
Without saying anything more, I unsheathe one of my knives, stand to drive it into one of his palms, making sure it sticks into the wooden arm of the chair before looking him in the eye.
I always look them in the eye. Gabe taught me that when I learned how to wield a knife.
My mouth twists into a satisfied snarl as he screams so loud, I swear the windows rattle a steady beat. It’s music to my ears. A sweet song that has me watching the exhibition unfold. Copious amounts of pain in his eyes. He’s squirming like a worm—body curling into itself, muscles constricting as he tries lifting his arm.
I laugh, humorless and deep.
“Hurts, doesn’t it? That’s how Victoria is feeling right now. She’s hurting, mourning, and you put your hands on her. That one’s for her.”
There’s no need to elaborate further, even though I’d love nothing more than to lean in and ask him if he enjoyed the view of her pretty pussy as I pounded into it. Once again, out of respect for Aidan, I keep it to myself. What’s more, he already beat the hell out of Agent Wozniak for touching Victoria after admitting he watched us fuck and spied on her like the stalker he is.
If it were any other woman, I’d be all for voyeurism. I’ve done it plenty on both ends. With Victoria, I’ll kill any man if he looks at her in any way I don’t like. Especially one that does it without permission from me.
“I don’t particularly care for someone else being obsessed with my obsession, Agent Wozniak. However, I can see how a man would be. Victoria is stunning, isn’t she?”
There’s no other word fitted to describe what Victoria has done to me. The woman has stunned me.
Dazed and staggered and irrational.
Pretty sure she did all those things to me years ago. I was just too much of a punk-ass kid, too young to recognize it.
“She’s a person, not an obsession,” he rasps, pinching his eyes closed, face showing all kinds of agony.
She’s a person alright, but in my book, my way of thinking, she’s an obsession.
Is it healthy? Probably not. Do I care?
Fuck no. It’s just the way I’m wired.
“Says the man who had a file a mile high on her.” There was so much information on her, me, our families, and Rocco, but not a goddamn clue on the person who killed Victoria’s family.
Imagine that. It shows how even those claiming to abide by the law are as crooked as those stashing their corrupted green in offshore bank accounts. Agent Wozniak might have been doing his job, but he’d have taken Victoria off somewhere, got her to trust him, and sooner or later destroyed her.
Fuck, the thought of her trusting another man when I know she doesn’t me lights a fire under my ass.
“How stupid can you be thinking you’d scare Victoria into turning on her family.” I kneel in front of him, the guy struggling to catch his breath.
“Fuck you. You’ll get caught. I’m a member of the law. People will look for me. You’ll end up in prison before long. You and Diesel can be fuck buddies,” he says with a cocky smile. I don’t find it funny, but I shake my head and chuckle anyway. Not from his comeback but the growl coming behind me from Aidan.
“You should thank God I’m killing you and not Aidan. I’ll make it quick. He wouldn’t. As I’m sure by the looks of you, you’ve gathered that much.”
“I’m not scared of pain.”
He’s a lying sack of shit. Everyone is scared of pain in one way or another. I don’t give a fuck who they are.
“Well, then we’ll pin a medal for bravery right into your forehead before burning your corpse. You should also consider how easy it is to make a person disappear. After all, that was your intention with Victoria.”
I’m not worried about getting caught. There’s no evidence left. His laptop, the video of me and Victoria is in our possession. His home, his office, everything has been wiped clean. The most that anyone will do when he doesn’t show to work is to file a missing person report. It’ll go nowhere except stashed away with other cold case files.
Even so, there will always be someone after us. As long as no one comes after Victoria, my family, or friends, they
