were crying.”

“Bitch.” She snorted, but smiled.

The ship’s doctor was her oldest friend, and had always been her rock when shit got heavy.

“Hey! I’m horny and lonely and this room tastes weird! Someone come and comfort me!” Bunny slurred out with a petulant whine that was still somehow adorable.

Billy smiled and gave the captain a nod.

“You go cuddle the Bunny, I’ll grab us some coffee?”

“Deal.”

Billy left first to head to the galley off the common room while Donnie took a moment to draw in another steadying breath, not wanting Bunny to worry about her.

She ducked into the infirmary a few seconds later.

“How we doing baby?”

The cat-girl’s head wobbled around to face her as she came in, the EEG rig was still in place and made her look like a weird bug was attached to her head.

“I’m okay, but nobody is having sex with me.”

“You’re in the infirmary Bunny, remember?”

“Of course I remember! I’m stupid not high!” Her face pinched together as her addled mind worked through her own words; “I mean, I’m high not stupid!”

Donnie rubbed her arm and set her hand on her fuzzy naval for a good finger scratch that drew a slight purr out of her.

“Okay great, and do you remember the one rule that Billy said you’re never allowed to break in here?”

Bunny pouted, but eventually she answered in the sing song voice of a child repeating something she’d been told to remember.

“No Bunny-sex in Billy’s infirmary.” Her eyes lit up right after she said it though, and her look turned cunning; “But if DeeDee wants to eat out Bunny, then it doesn’t count, she’s the captain!”

Billy tapped Donnie on the shoulder and handed her a cup of coffee before squeezing past her into the room.

“Not in here she isn’t. Now let’s get you settled in, you had a busy day, a short day, but busy. And I’m afraid no matter how bad this room tastes, you are in here for the night kiddo.”

“I’m not kiddo I’m Bunny!” She raised her hands up and dropped them against the gurney in exasperation.

Donnie’s lips had moved right along with the cat-girl’s, fully aware of what she was going to say.

“You object to me hanging around here?” Donnie asked the medic while she sipped at her coffee.

Billy shrugged.

“You can sleep in the other gurney if it makes you hard, just don’t fool around with my patient.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it Billy.”

An hour later the doctor went to get some chow with the others, leaving Donnie alone with the injured K’or-Macka.

They made small talk for a bit, until eventually the captain hopped onto the other gurney and stared at the ceiling, one arm behind her head.

“Are you tired DeeDee?”

“After all the excitement? I won’t be sleeping for a while. How about you?”

She heard a rustle as Bunny shrugged.

“I am. But I’m also... not.”

The suggestion in her words was hard to miss and Donnie chuckled at the invitation.

“Focus on the first part. Billy would strangle me if we messed around.”

Bunny sighed heavily.

“Oh alright I suppose.”

She fell silent after that while Donnie mulled over the day’s events, her mind circling over and over again to Bunny motionless on the ground and the jolt of terrifying pain she felt at the sight.

Finally she had to say something.

“Okay sure, maybe I was crying a little bit when I thought you were... But you scared the crap out of me Bunny! Your fuzzy little ass has wormed its way into my heart and now I kind of want to lock you up on the ship to keep you safe forever and-”

The rush of words from Donnie stopped when the sound of Bunny’s soft snoring greeted her heartfelt admission.

She frowned and rolled onto her side to glare at the sleeping kitty, curled up and dreaming despite the EEG rig still strapped to her head.

The captain clicked her tongue in indignation, but smiled at the sight of the peaceful cat.

“Heh, you little shit.”

Chapter 5: Balance Owed

Late into the night on Kentis, soft music was playing from the console in one of the bunks aboard the Pixie Hazard, setting the mood for the couple that shared it.

With Kyle’s help Eniella had made the modifications to the ship’s sensors and her girlfriend had been relieved from her watch by Eva, so the two of them were sharing an intimate moment in their bunk.

Davie was lying in bed face-down and shirtless, with an equally underdressed Eniella straddling her waist.

The pink-haired woman had put a haptic feedback sleeve over her robotic arm and was currently spoiling her lover with a proper back rub.

It was long overdue in Davie’s opinion.

“How’s your throat baby?”

“Still sore.” The petite redhead pouted; “Next time I think it should be you taking care of Kyle while I get spoiled by Bunny.”

Eniella leaned over and kissed her on her ear multiple times, her bare breasts pressing into Davie’s freckled back.

“Aww, mi amor don’t say that! You’ll almost make me feel guilty.”

“Mmmm, I love it when you play up the Latin-seductress thing... Guh, tha’s good.” Davie mumbled as her lover sat up again to resume the massage.

“Which is? Making me feel guilty or... this?” Eniella pressed into her knotted shoulders harder with her robotic thumb.

The only reply she got was a deep moan as Davie’s eyelids fluttered.

“Neither. I was just remembering Kyle’s cock, maybe if I ask nicely Bunny will let him fuck me raw with it.”

Eniella clicked her tongue and roughly rolled Davie onto her back, the massage over.

“Hey!” The redhead whined.

But her complaint faltered when she saw her girlfriend lean down and hover her face over her groin.

“Evidently I need to remind you that this-” The pressed her
