where I could hear him.

Breaking my gaze from the guy in the ring, I stare at Tyres with wide eyes. “He. . . He. . . I, um, that man. He’s . . . He’s one of them,” I stammer.

Tyres furrows his brow and glances at the ring coming back to me. His gaze goes from me to look over his shoulder to Chains, says something, and the two of them go completely alert. Chains then goes to say something to each of his brothers.

“You don’t move from my side, Ly. You stay with me until Fuse gets out of that ring,” Tyres mutters right as Fuse comes into the room and stalks to the ring. His eyes void of emotion. “Don’t get upset if he doesn’t look this way, babe. He’s shut down for the moment to keep himself in check. Fucker is in for a rude awakening when it comes to your man. He’s not gonna let this motherfucker beat him in a fight. When it’s over, we’ll take care of the rest.”

I nod my head, unsure of any of what he said. All I can see is one of Leonard’s men, who took great pleasure in nearly beating me to death after raping me, is standing in the ring with Fuse.

My stomach churns and I feel as if I were gonna throw up. Only I keep myself in check, not wanting to miss Fuse’s fight. He’d wanted me here for this and I’m not going to miss it. Me being here means something to him and I’m not taking that from him.

The fight begins and Leonard’s man must have said something to him because Fuse’s eyes flared for a split second before he shut it down again.

“Fuck, it’s about to be a blood bath,” Chains growls loud enough I can hear him from the other side of Tyres.

“It’s not gonna be a blood bath, Fuse is goin’ to lose his shit, but he’ll wait until he’s got this fucker away from so many eyes. You know our brother is smart enough not to kill this fucker with so many people around,” Tyres mutters.

Oh shit.

The match begins and Leonard’s man starts at Fuse; however, my man is, as Tyres said, smart enough not to let him get the hit he wants. Instead, Fuse begins to pummel him with all his might. The guy does get a lick or two in before Fuse is done. All of this lasts less than two minutes before Fuse sends his fist into the side of Leonard’s man’s face sending him staggering to the mat. He doesn’t get up and I let out a heavy breath.

Only when the man who’d announced them came out and did as he did in the match before them does Fuse finally bring his attention to me. Climbing out of the ring, he stalks in my direction. When he’s close enough, I move into him, not worried about the fact his body is sweaty. He’s the one who makes me feel the safest.

“They won’t get you again, ma douce,” he growls, holding me to him.

And it’s then I could take a wild guess as to what was said in the ring.

“I believe you,” I say into his chest.

Which I do believe him. I saw the fire that flickered in his eyes briefly while in the ring. I get why he blocked his mind out from everything but the fight at the time. He didn’t want the guy to have the advantage over him. I also believe this because the moment he finished, he came straight to me to make sure I’m good as well as reassure me I’d be safe.

Relaxing into him, I allow him to guide me from the room and out to the hallway that leads to the exit.

In the hallway, I hear Chains order several of his brothers to wait for Leonard’s man and anyone else that he could be with. He wanted them picked up and taken to somewhere I didn’t pay attention to where. I didn’t want to know. I just wanted to know it was over with.

“You still good with going to see Noé?” Fuse asks.

Am I?

As he says, I’m safe with him and I need to start living again. If anything standing there watching the fights happen, I felt the adrenaline right along with them. It’s intense and something I’ve never seen before.

So I look up to Fuse and give him a small smile. “Yeah, I’m good.”

Grinning, he leans down and presses his mouth to mine.

Oh boy, that is something I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get used to.

Chapter Eleven

Fuse

Fury doesn’t even begin to explain the emotions filling me when that motherfucker spoke about him having his fill of my woman. He’d made sure I knew he’d fucked her. How he’d done it and he looked forward to doing it again.

Said his leader was missing his toy and wanted her back.

That shit isn’t about to happen. No fuckin’ way I’m gonna give my woman over to an asshole who thinks he can have her.

Lyrica is my woman and I’ll be damned if I let something else happen to her. I’d seen the fear fill Ly’s eyes from where I was and felt it in my gut that she’d been in the same room with one of the motherfucker’s who hurt her. Shit she could have been in there with all of them without any of us knowing. I’d wanted to gut him right then and there and I might have if she’d not been there. However, I didn’t want her to see that part of me. I knocked his ass out and knew my brothers wouldn’t let him leave this building of his own free will.

I’d been correct when Chains told several of my brothers to stay behind. Taking Lyrica to my truck, I lift her up into the passenger seat, close the door, and storm around to the other side. I take my
