me. It was like strip poker with supermodels and I had won every hand already. Their breasts hovered just above the table top.

Their nipples insisted I look at them.

I obliged.

The Titillating Trio sat there politely not doing anything, hands in their laps.

“Do I need to serve you?” I asked sarcastically.

“No!” they chorused.

“Help yourself. Dish up some food. That’s an order.”

They filled their plates to heaping. There was plenty to go around, same as every meal Sergeant Imi and her staff served me. It was no surprise the Trio ate as much as athletes but with practiced grace and reserve. Apparently, you couldn’t be a Shock Knight without going to charm school or finishing school or whatever they called it here on Zalaxia.

Conversation was easy. Mostly, it involved the Titillating Trio talking about being in their first mythie with me. They insisted it be filled with action, sex, action, and sex.

“What about a plot?” I chortled.

“Plot?” they wondered.

“The reason for the action and sex,” I smirked.

“Who needs a reason?” they giggled.

I couldn’t argue with that.

They also told me how amazing I had been out in the jungle tonight, how I had saved them from the Terrorsaurs. I tried to play down their praise without making it too obvious I was constantly sneaking glances at their naked breasts and beautiful faces and pretending Scepter wasn’t propping up my side of the breakfast table.

“We’d be dead if it wasn’t for you, my king,” Aura said lustily.

“So true,” Iyse agreed around a mouthful of sausage — not mine, grrr — holding up a gloved hand to cover her mouth politely while she spoke. “I still can’t believe you ordered us to not do our duty and protect you with our lives, my king.”

I said, “You mean at the Cage Root grove?”

“Yes,” Iyse nodded, looking almost starstruck.

“Your rings weren’t working,” I said, hunched over my food and shoveling it into my mouth. “You were the ones who needed protecting.”

When I said the word protect, the three of them practically swooned where they sat.

Kuma said, “You were a god out there tonight, my king! A living god!”

Aura and Iyse gushed agreement.

Grinning, I chuckled, “I don’t know about that.”

“You made those Terrorsaurs disappear!” Kuma enthused. “A literal god. Right, girls?”

“Mmm-hmm,” Aura and Iyse both cooed.

You’d think no one had ever protected them before. From what I’d heard, the previous kings probably hadn’t. As long as I was here, I was more than happy to protect them. But I didn’t want to set them straight about who had been the real god out there tonight. It wasn’t me. It was that damn dragon. He had been the god. I didn’t say anything about him because I deserved at least a few hours of hero worship from these three hotties before I disappointed them tonight or tomorrow. That was when Zalaxian High Command would order the military to save my very ungodly ass from that very godly dragon. The same dragon I would not be able to protect them from. For all I knew, that dragon would wipe out everyone and everything standing in its path and kill me dead, as promised. If that happened, I wouldn’t be able to protect anybody.

“Have you picked your first yet?” Aura asked bluntly after blotting her mouth with a purple-and-gold patterned linen napkin.

The eyes of Iyse and Kuma goggled in disbelief.

I grinned sarcastically, “There’s no need to be coy, Aura. Why don’t you just say what you mean?”

Iyse and Kuma giggled.

“I will,” Aura said proudly. “Can I be your first, my king? Please? No joke. Can I? I promise it’ll be a week you’ll never forget.”

Iyse and Kuma gasped.

“Only a week?” I chuckled.

“Two weeks if you’ll let me,” Aura smiled seductively, her pale jade-green eyes burning with desire. “Four if you let these two join us.”

Iyse’s eyelids suddenly fluttered over her amber eyes like she was thinking about it, thinking about what it would be like to indulge in four fuck-filled weeks with me and these two, and the mere thought was bringing her halfway to orgasm.

Kuma bit her lip like she was on the verge of one herself.

As for me, Scepter practically tore through my uniform in response. This wasn’t the first trio that had propositioned me for a four-way. But those other women had been nameless faces. Not these three. I’d seen Aura, Iyse, and Kuma every day since they’d sworn their oath to protect me. We had made small talk dozens of times. I felt like I knew them. To me, they were like those hot babes at the office you saw all the time, the ones you were always trying to befriend, but you never got past polite hellos and goodbyes, the ones you fantasized about but never ended up with, until all of a sudden they started coming around your cube and dropping hints about getting lunch sometime, except instead of eating in at the office lunchroom you ate them out in the back of your car in a Panera parking lot. Or in my case now, eating the Titillating Trio. Here. In this very room. On this very breakfast table.

Except… promises fucking promises.

I grimaced to myself.

It tortured me to say it — like a chainsaw to the crotch — but I didn’t break promises. Imagine for a moment the sound of a barking chainsaw roaring.

VRAAAAWKK!

I was imagining it. I was also imagining myself metaphorically jamming that chainsaw between my own legs where I kept my damn promises. Because that’s how it felt to keep them. Like a chainsaw to the crotch. While I jammed away — VRAAAAWKK! — I grit my teeth in ethical anguish and sexual frustration. If that image is too gruesome, imagine the Mad magazine cartoon version as drawn by Sergio Aragonés or the late, great Mort Drucker, or the equally late and equally great Jack Davis.

VRAAAAWKK!

“Who is it going to be, my king?” Kuma inquired.

“What?” I grumbled.

“Your first, my king,” Iyse prompted.

“Three…” Aura added on the sly.

“I haven’t decided yet,” I sighed.

VRAAAAWKK!

“You
