Killian lifts me into a sitting position and kisses me, pulling the world back into focus.
“My cousins need to go. We’re all rock hard for you, sweetheart.”
The back door opens, and Killian turns, shielding me with his body. The others move closer to him, blocking me from Garrett’s view.
Looking over Killian’s shoulder, Garrett runs a hand through his hair and smirks. “We’re headed home. We’re taking Lexi with us.”
Off the table, I gather my underwear, pants, and boots, then quickly dress.
“I’m glad you found your mate,” Killian says with deep sincerity.
“We are too. We’re eager to get her home.”
“I understand.” Killian glances over his shoulder to ensure I’m dressed. Leaving our group, he joins Garrett. “We’ll be leaving tonight and staying a while in Mordeeves Island. I want all of you to keep a low profile until you hear from me. Got it?”
“Yeah. How long do you think you’ll be gone?”
“However long is necessary.”
“All right,” Garrett acknowledges. “I’ll share the news with the rest of our family. Need us to check on your place every once in a while?”
“As long as it’s not too much trouble.”
“Not at all.”
“I’ll get you the house and shop key, then go over a few important things.”
Garrett and Killian go inside, and we follow.
Sitting on the couch, Lexi has red cheeks and disheveled hair. I give her a wink, and her tight lips loosen into a smile. Sitting next to her, I flick a strand of her hair.
“Enjoy yourself?”
Trying to downplay her grin, she bites her bottom lip. “Yes.”
Everett, on the other side of her, wraps a hand around her side and along her thigh as he kisses her cheek.
“We’re grateful we found her.”
“I bet. So, you’re heading home with them?”
“I am.” Her brows pinch inward as though she’s waiting for me to disapprove.
“I think it’s great. It’ll be good to spend time together.”
Relief washes over her face. “Thanks. Would you mind if we exchanged numbers? I’d like to keep in touch.”
“Definitely.” I start to stand, but Griffin has already picked up my phone from the kitchen and brought it to me.
“Thank you.”
Warm lips press to my cheek. “No problem, love.”
Lexi watches the exchange and smiles. I’m sure she’s looking forward to having the same kind of relationship dynamic we all have. After swapping numbers, I set my phone on the coffee table.
“We’re all taking a trip to somewhere private. I won’t be reachable for a while, but once I am, I’ll check on you.”
“I’m glad I had the chance to meet you. I hope everything works out for all of you and us supernaturals.”
“Me too.”
CHAPTER TEN
SELENE
Walking through the portal into the living room of my first home with my boyfriends brings back many delicious memories and a sensation of comfort and safety. Griffin drops his duffle bag by the couch.
“There’s a whole living area in the basement, Phoenix. It’s equipped with a bedroom, bathroom, office, living room, and workout room.”
Phoenix’s brow rises with surprise. “Thank you, Griffin.”
“I tried to make this place a home for all of us.”
Emeric pats him on the back. “You did good, Griff.”
My heart pitter-patters at the exchange. Phoenix is warming up to the others, and Emeric has even given Griffin a nickname. My cheeks swell with my smile, and Killian notices, kissing my cheek.
“We’re finally a pack,” he whispers.
“Phoenix, you’ll have to see our bedroom. It’s amaz—” My words cut off, and my heart sinks. He can’t share the bedroom. The daylight will hurt him.
Cyrus catches my pained expression. “We’ll rearrange as necessary, gorgeous. Don’t worry about that.”
“Half roof?” Emeric suggests. “Covering the bed?”
Cyrus nods. “We can create a roof from the wall of the door outward and still leave the second half uncovered.”
“Do we have the wood needed?” Killian asks.
“Yeah,” Griffin assures him. “We can take what we need from the forest.”
Killian rubs my back. “We’ll start on it tomorrow.”
Tears fill my eyes. “I love all of you… so much.”
Curling me into a hug, Killian kisses my head. “We love you just as much.”
Cyrus rubs my shoulders as Killian releases his hold. “Are you tired?”
“I am.”
“How about you sleep with Phoenix tonight?”
The corner of Phoenix’s mouth lifts, as does mine.
“I think that’s a great idea.”
The guys grab Phoenix’s extra bags and help carry them as we all follow Griffin to the basement door under the primary stairwell, down a circular wooden stairwell into a clean, nicely decorated living space. In the time I spent here, it never occurred to me there was a basement, and Griffin never mentioned it. I suppose it wasn’t important at the time, but now I’m grateful there is a basement, so Phoenix can have his own safe, private space.
The light-gray living room has a pretty red couch and matching red paisley chairs. The lighter and brighter tones are nice since the room doesn’t have any windows. Phoenix looks at the bare wall.
“I’d like to have one of Selene’s paintings on that wall.”
“Not a problem,” Griffin replies, extending an arm out for us to explore the rest of the space. The guys follow Phoenix and me into the bedroom. It’s painted an even lighter gray with a black bed frame and a lovely black, silver, and red comforter set.
“I like it,” I enthuse.
Phoenix sets a bag down, and the guys drop the other bags next to it, including mine.
“It does look good,” Phoenix agrees.
Cyrus gives me a hug. “Have a good night's sleep.” With a slow, sensuous kiss, he leaves my lips tingling.
Killian pulls me close to his chest, kisses me on the nose, then raises my chin for a deeper kiss. “Good night, sweetheart.”
Griffin hugs me, then strokes my face as his tongue mingles with mine. “Night, love.”
Emeric is last, his wings enfolding me as he tongue-fucks my mouth and leaves me breathless.
“Take advantage of your time, Phoenix, because come morning, I’m fucking her senseless.”
The others laugh, and even Phoenix snickers.
“Too bad she’ll be too tired.”
Giggling, I wave goodbye to them. When the door at the top
