I will get vengeance. I promised Dad, and I promised myself.
We all move to the bar where sofas, a pool table, and a few coin machines are situated. The room is nothing more than a glorified living room, but thereβs alcohol. Perching myself on a stool, I order a beer from one of the prospects serving. With my drink in hand, I take in the scene before me. Twenty-five or so men settle around on the leather couches, some at the pool table, others standing around with glasses in hand, talking.
The door swings open, and the party starts when a handful of clubwhores walk in, their heels high and their skirts short. Iβm almost certain none of them are wearing panties. Easy access, cheap thrills. Not my kinda thing. Even when I was back home, I never bothered with them too much. I like a challenge. I donβt want pussy dropping in my lap at the flick of my fingers. Even though I can get it, I prefer fighting for my prize.
The girl I met earlier isnβt here. I didnβt think sheβd be; she didnβt seem like a groupie. But the woman I saw with her brings me another drink, and I realize sheβs someoneβs olβ lady. A smile graces her lips when she sets the bottle down.
βWelcome to Anchor Bay. One of the friendliest places in the continental US.β
βThatβs what everyone keeps telling me,β I respond, lifting the drink and tipping it toward her in a thanks. βPlace is like one of those overly friendly shitholes.β
She laughs out loud, the sound husky, as if sheβs smoked far too many cigarettes in her life. βThatβs exactly what it is.β The glint in her eyes tells me momma would be interested in riding the Rogue stick, but when I look at her, all I see is her daughter.
βNameβs Rogue,β I tell her, holding out a hand, which she accepts.
βIβm Tawny. You probably saw my daughter, Trinity, earlier,β she explains, and now I have a name. Wonder if momma and daughter would be up for a threesome. The thought makes my dick jolt.
βYeah, good girl doing her homework.β
βThat would be her.β Another flash of perfectly white teeth and the look of a woman whoβs hungry. When she leaves me to serve one of the other guys, I canβt help but watch her for a long moment. She certainly ainβt bad looking for a mother. Older woman and all that shit. She must easily have about twenty years or more on me.
βBe careful of that one; she bites,β Snake warns as he slips in beside me, a grin plastered on his face. βDaughter is off-limits too.β
I shrug it off, trying to hide my disappointment before asking, βYour olβ lady?β
He shakes his head, casting a quick glance at Tawny. βFuck no. Sheβd bite my dick off if she ever came near it. My VP, the man who is no longer with us, knocked her up when she was seventeen. When Trinity was born, he took to fatherhood like a fish to water.β Snake tells the story with sadness dripping from every word. βThen Trinny turned seventeen, and he upped and left.β
βJust like that?β
He turns his stare on me. βYeah, just like that.β
What the fuck makes a man walk out on his family without a word?
My curious mind needs to know. βDonβt you think something happened to him?β
Snake swallows back his drink, swirling the empty glass as he focuses on the few drops still in there before he tilts his head to the side, regarding me. βSomething did happen to him,β he says. βThere are a lot of rumors going around the clubs about what when down. Problem is, weβre not sure where heβs gone, or how to find him. But the thing about it is, heβs better off gone.β He slams the glass on the wooden surface, itβs filled without question, before Snake shakes his head.
And there it is. The reason Tawnyβs husband leftβhe fucked up and ran.
βYou keep them here even though he walked out on you when you needed him?β
βThe girls are good people,β Snake informs me. βThey didnβt deserve that fucker leaving them. And I have to be honest,β he murmurs, glancing over at the buxom brunette with plump lips and hazel eyes. βIf sheβd give me half a chance, Iβd happily show her just how good this tongue can make her feel.β He chuckles, shaking his head as he pushes away from the bar. βEnjoy your night.β With a slap on the back, he leaves me to drink, but my mind is replaying all the information I just got.
And now that I know Trinityβs name, Iβm almost certain itβs not going to be the last time I think about her.
3 Trinity
Itβs been a few days since our new neighbor moved in, and if I said I wasnβt even more intrigued knowing heβs a member of The Kovenant, then Iβd be lying. Momβs been like a prison warden, with her rules and regulations about me hanging out at the club. Even though I have friends there, she clearly doesnβt want me around the new guy I learned was called Rogue.
The gossip around the clubhouse is that he and his dad patched in from Colorado and that heβs here to stay. When I spoke to Larkin, one of my only friends, she had the inside scoop since her dad, Gunner, is the Road Captain.
My phone buzzes, and Larkinβs name illuminates the screen. Itβs a new message, which I shouldnβt open since Iβm studying, but Momβs at work, and Iβm bored. For the first time in my life, schoolwork has me needing an escape.
