βIs that your way of telling me you want my dick inside you?β I throw back, trying to get out of this sappy, emotional crap. Iβm not a romance guy, hate the bullshit that comes with it. Most times itβs fake, just lies people tell themselves to make them feel better.
βDo you always have to be so crass?β Trinity shoots back, but the hint of a smile on her face is still present, so I couldnβt have offended her too much.
βYeah,β I tell her. βI do it so you donβt fall in love with me.β Trinity laughs at my response as I put the smoke between my lips and take a long pull, allowing the nicotine to fill my lungs.
She shakes her head, looking away for a moment before turning those emeralds on me once more. βDonβt worry. I donβt have a habit of falling in love with bad guys.β Her sass makes my dick throb in my jeans. Fuck, this girl could be the end of me. And sheβll most probably enjoy it while I squirm just for her.
βGood,β I tell her. βNo strings.β Even as I say it, Iβm not sure there arenβt already a few tethers between us. I recognize the twist in my gut when she pushes to her feet and turns toward her house. Itβs the same feeling I get when I think about losing the life I have. When I think about how painful it was when I lost my mother and my sister.
βI better get back before my mother comes out here to kill you,β she says, the corner of her mouth twitching as she regards me with a gentle gaze that sets me on edge. She may say she wonβt fall, but thereβs a hint of emotion in her eyes that says otherwise.
βSheβd have to catch me first.β Another laugh, one I hope to hear again and again, tinkles from her lips. She takes the two steps down, heading home, but I stop her and ask, βIs she working tonight?β
Trinity looks over her shoulder at me. βYeah. Why?β
βBe ready at seven,β I tell her before pushing to my feet and making my way to the back door. βIβll pick you up.β Without waiting for her response, I step inside and shut the door behind me. I donβt know why Iβm doing this, but I want to. Spending time with her chases away the demons that haunt me. She reminds me of the young man I was before all the shit happened in my life. And Iβm a selfish bastard, but I want to feel normal again.
When I walk into the living room, Dad looks up from the sofa, his face white as a ghost. βTheyβve found him, heβs two towns over with about fifteen men from his club. And I think he has some backup from two other chapters as well.β
βI donβt give a shit whoβs with him,β I bite out, my blood already boiling in my veins. βWhen are we heading out?β
βSnake wants to meet. He has a plan, and I want you to listen to him.β Dadβs on his feet, shrugging on his cut as he tells me this, and I have a feeling theyβre going to ask me to sit here and wait for them to get back. Thatβs not fucking happening.
Weβre all seated around the long, wooden table. Hack walks in, shutting the door behind him as we turn to regard him. He sets down the laptop, turning it toward me, and points to the location onscreen. It seems Lex is nearing Anchor Bay. Perhaps the prey is coming to the hunter after all.
βWeβll head out now,β I tell them, then snap my gaze over to Snake whoβs watching me intently. βCan we?β I ask, realizing I just took over the meeting when he should be the one who gives the order.
βI want at least ten of us out there now. Iβve called for backup. Our neighboring chapter will be here within a few hours. Once they arrive, Iβll head out and lock up the clubhouse.β Snakeβs grin widens as he regards all of us. βLetβs kill some fuckers.β More cheers go up around the room, and this time, seeing the tracker on Jordβs computer has me less stressed than I was when we went on a wild fucking goose chase and came up empty-handed.
Iβm on my feet, shrugging on my cut before pushing my chair back. βIβm ready,β I tell the room. The guys follow me out, but Iβm stopped by Dadβs hand on my shoulder.
βIβm coming with you,β he tells me. Itβs always been me whoβs wanted to find vengeance, but the look in my fatherβs eyes tells me Iβm not alone in this.
βIβd like that,β I tell him. βI was ready to do this alone. I was ready to wait for him to get here and have him locked up in a warehouse alone, but Iβll happily kill the fucker on any soil.β
We move out to the bikes, and I swing my leg over, turning the engine on, giving it a roar before I kick up the stand and reverse out of my parking spot. The deep rumble of the other bikes has me smiling with satisfaction. Itβs a sound of support, a sound of pure adrenalin coursing through my veins.
As we speed out of the lot and onto the road, Snakeβs not here, but his VP, Diablo, takes the lead, and we all fall into our places within the group. One thing about this type of family is theyβre respectful. And we may be new to Anchor Bay and this chapter, but I already feel like I belong.
We rumble down the road out of Anchor Bay and toward the neighboring town which is Green Hills. When I looked it up, I noticed itβs nothing more
