in jean rags. The strange J looking symbol stitched in bright red in the light material.

“What the fuck!” I yelled out trying to get the attention of the two men and I pulled my gun from where I kept it hidden at the small of my back. They stood up from beating on him and looked in my direction. I aimed but before I could squeeze the trigger, someone else ran up behind me and pulled the weapon from my hand.

He had the same jean kutte on, he looked at my weapon and tossed it to the side like it was a fucking paperweight.

He used his foot to push my chair forward, depositing me on the floor right along with it.

I turned over if I was about to get shot, I wanted to see it coming.

“Who the fuck are you? Do you know who’s shit you are messing with right now? You’re gonna wish you chose a different truck boy.”

“Look at this old dog here.” He kicked me once in my gut causing me to curl to my side in pain. “You think we’re scared of you? You think your little club strikes any fear in our hearts? I promise you it doesn’t. We let you think you ran this town long enough, the Djinn era has officially started. I guess you can let your President know that he just graduated to being my bitch. Actually, I think I’ll leave him a note.”

He started kicking me again, the two men behind were still beating on Storm who was much too silent for my liking.

“Stop!” A loud screeching voice echoed behind everything. The kicking stopped as he turned to see who it was. “You leave them alone and get the hell out of here.”

Cherry had picked up my gun and pointed it at them.

“Oh sweet girl, you know you don’t want to do that. Just give me that and I’ll take good care of you.”

“Don’t you fucking talk to her.” I wheezed out from the floor.

“Cher...shoot, shoot them.” Storm whispered from his position on the floor. His breathing was ragged.

“Stop! Just go the fuck away.”

“Nah, girl, you too sweet for me to just go away.” The man rushed her and in quick succession, Cherry pulled the trigger three times. Two in the chest, one in the head.

The man who was previously kicking the shit out of me, lay lifeless on the dirt in front of me. The two men behind me took one step in her direction but Cherry was quick, she didn’t hesitate to get him in her sights. “That is your life.” He threatened her. He backed up staring her down all the way until they both made it to their crotch rockets, they were riding Kawasaki’s, that shit in itself pissed me off.

Once they peeled off Cherry raced to my side. “Oh baby, Ryder, what do I do?”

“Check on Storm,” I mumbled trying to stay conscious.

“Ok, I’m going.” She stood up and ran over to Storm.

It was a few seconds and I didn’t hear Storm talk, “Brother!” I screamed out. “Stop fucking around.”

I turned on my stomach, a sharp excruciating pain burned through my back, I grunted and dug my hands into the dirt and pulled myself through the pain. I crawled on my belly to where Cherry was trying to wake Storm up. She was shaking him and crying but he wasn’t responding.

I made my way to him and checked to make sure he was still breathing. There was a lot of blood coming from his head but he was still breathing.

“Cherry, we need to get out of here, go inside and get some help.”

“Ok, I can do that.” She jumped up and ran back inside the building.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket. I dialed Wire but it went straight to voicemail, so Clean was the next on the line. He picked up.

“Barry’s Kitty Clinic, if you got pussy I want it!” He answered the phone, a group of people laughed around him.

“What the fuck did you say?” Someone laughing in the background asked him. “Only you would say that dumb shit. I’m going to answer the phone like that next time.

“Clean.” I tried to call out to him but he was too busy laughing at his own joke to hear me good.

“Bullshit, get your own shit,” Clean yelled at whoever was there with him.

“Clean!” I screamed at the phone.

“Yeah, Ryder, damn you in a bad mood again?” He stopped laughing and finally started speaking to me.

“Clean, we’re fucked. Call everyone. We down.”

“Shut the fuck up!” Clean screamed to everyone who was near him before coming back to the phone with me. VP Clean was on the phone now, “Ryder, what are you talking about brother? Where you at? We’re rolling right now.”

“We’re at Satin Wings, Storm is in a bad way. Fuck, just get here Clean.” I let the phone fall down to the ground and rolled over to my back. Storm was still unconscious and the pain in my back was excruciating, I looked up at the sky, my equilibrium was off and I could feel the world spinning.

“What the shit!” Maven and Lucky came running out the club, Maven and Cherry dropped down to my side while Lucky ran over to where Storm was.

“Goddamn it. Girls, he needs a doctor, right now, and we need to get this guy to the doctor, he’s pale as hell.” I heard him dial someone on the phone and start talking. I could only assume it was his people at the Spawns but I passed out before I could hear the entire conversation.

I could feel myself floating deeper and deeper into the blackness but there was nothing I could do to stop it; in fact, it was so peaceful my body seemed to just want to give up. The thunder underneath my body is what brought me back to consciousness. I opened my eyes to see Cherry hovering over me, big tears falling onto my face.

“Ryder,
