had to appreciate Liam's very diplomatic answer. He could tellhe might have made the other man uncomfortable and regretted saying anything. He gave Liam a small smile. "I'm sorry. That was inappropriate to ask." He rubbed his palms on his thighs and took a deep breath. "I'mreadyto go."

Liam reached out and caught his hand, pulling him close again. "Wait. I don't want youto be sorry, Skye. I just don't want you to get hurt later on. I'm just the teacher, remember? I'm only getting you ready for the realthing. I'mnot the realthing, though. I can't be."

He sounded like he might regret that and it made Skye sad. He didn't want Liam to get hurt, either. He smiled and nodded. "I understand, I do. I won't get too attached, I promise."

Too late, he thought to himself. But he didn't have to go and do something dumb like tell Liam right this second. That'd just run him off, or so he'd read about menand suchthings. Lindyhad assured himhis best bet was to sneak in under the radar. Skye hadn't worked out how to do that. How did one surreptitiously make a manlike Liamfallinlove withhim?

He had time, though. For now, he was going to learn everything he could because what Liam was teaching him was very clearly all the things Liam liked. And Skye definitely wanted to know everything Liam

liked. When Liam didn't respond, his brows all furrowed

and eyes a little concerned still, Skye leaned up to brush a kiss to his lips. "Come on. Take me for a ride on your Harley, Liam. Take me wherever you want." His lips brushed against Liam's as he spoke. "I'm all yours, remember?" He felt very bold and when Liam's arm came around him and tugged him hard up against his chest, Skye decided Liamliked bold. Mentalnote.

Liamgrabbed the leather coat he'd given Skye and handed it to him. "Put it on. I've got an extra helmet and a hellofa night planned for you, professor."

Oh boy. Skye wasn't at all sure what Liam meant, but he didn't mind for once. Maybe this would be fun, letting Liam call all the shots. Heck, it'd worked out reallywellthe other night. What harmcould it do?

"I don't know how to dance..." Skye sounded very worried and Liamhad a hard time hidinghis smile.

"No, but I do. That's why I'm the teacher and you, professor, are the student."

Skye glanced up at him, brows lifted and dark eyes amused. "I didn't know dance instructor was on your veryimpressive resume."

Liam tugged him closer as they approached the entrance of the club. "It's more of a hidden talent." He nodded to the bouncer as they were waved inside, reachingto take Skye's hand.

Skye leaned in to brush his lips against Liam's ear as they entered the building and the pounding music hit themlike a fist. "People are lookingat me."

Liam laughed and led him toward the coat check, handing off their jackets and helmets, then turned, tucking the ticket in his back pocket. "Skye, darlin', if they're looking, it's because youlook fuckinghot."

He did, too. The jeans clung to the long, sleek muscles of his thighs and the bitable curve of his ass. The black T-shirt was this very thin fabric bordering on too-thin, offeringa hint ofnipples throughit, showingoff the narrow span of his waist. The man always made Liam want to pin him against the wall and strip his clothes off.

Skye didn't seem to be aware of Liam's lusty intentions--too busy looking around--and his eyes just kept getting wider. From the piranha tank arching over the entrance and continuing along the wall behind the bar, to the dance floor so crowded with bodies it seemed to be a living, breathing thing, pulsing with movement and lust and life--everything seemed to hold animpossible fascinationfor Skye.

"Wow. I always did wonder whyeveryone spent so much time going to clubs in college..." Skye shook his head, lettingLiamlead himover to the bar.

Liam leaned forward to catch the bartender's attention, then glanced at Skye. "Why didn't you ever go withthem?"

Skye smiled, one shoulder lifting in a dismissive shrug. "I was four years ahead of everyone, so when my fellow college students were ignoring studying for finals in favor of nightclubs, I wasn't old enough, even if I'd wanted to go."He shook his head, brows knitting as he turned away from the dance floor. "Not that I wanted to."

Liam didn't believe him for a second. No matter how brilliant Skye was, there was no way being left out and probably ostracized by his peers hadn't hurt himas a kid. Which is exactly what Skye had been during college, apparently--just a kid. "Really? Your big ol' brain got allthe stimulation you needed frombooks and numbers and classes?"

Skye nodded, expression almost daring Liam to doubt his answer. "Absolutely."

Liamgrinned, leaninginto nuzzle his ear. "Thenwhy did you come looking for me the first chance you got, myown?"

Skye shuddered, leaning against him, but the bartender cut off his response. Liam ordered Skye a shot of tequila with a beer chaser. He knew the other man had probably never had a straight drink before, so he was going to start him off with just one shot, no more. Most likely that'd be it for the night. He wanted inhibitions loosened, not fall-downtrashed.

Liam grinned at the wary look Skye gave the tiny shot glass when the bartender set it and the beer down. "Don't look at it like it's a cobra, my own. Just toss it down. Youdon't want to sip at it."

Skye wrinkled his nose. "I don't understand the point of drinking something that tastes so vile you have to try and get it down without it hitting your taste buds and then wash it down with something else. It makes no sense."

Liam laughed
