fetch one, so I suggested to Marci that she do it. She did so and then resumed her position on the lounger next to Susan. Greg and I sat on the side of it in deck chairs facing them.

The atmosphere felt a bit thick, and I wasn’t sure how to cut through it, so I stuck with normal social banter that might occur between neighbors when they’re all fully clothed.

“How’ve you been, Greg?” I asked, with a tone of sincere interest, a tone used when the person you’re addressing has been recently divorced.

“I’m well enough, Ryan. Thanks for asking,” he replied.

In case Marci wasn’t up to speed on Greg’s affairs, I mentioned his recent divorce.

“Oh, right,” said Marci. “Your wife ran off with a pilot.”

“Marci!” said Susan. “That’s not nice to say.”

I immediately thought, oh, look at Susan going to Greg’s defense! Then I put that six-year-old in my head away.

“It’s okay,” said Greg with a smile. “It’s true. It doesn’t bother me anymore. I’ve moved on.”

“Good,” I said.

“Was she the one who sunbathed in a skimpy suit?” asked Marci, demonstrating she hadn’t registered Susan’s earlier comment.

“That would be the one,” said Greg with another small laugh.

“Ryan probably enjoyed that,” said Marci.

I felt sheepish but nodded my head. It was true. It was also clear Marci wouldn’t let herself be reeled in.

“So, Greg, aren’t you going to join us?” asked Marci. She was referring to his shorts and the fact that they were still on.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t want to assume anything when I came over.”

“You’re fine either way,” I said.

“No he’s not!” said Marci. “Anyway, we already saw you naked over there.” She nodded over to Greg’s backyard.

Greg laughed. “I admit, I was surprised when I looked over earlier and saw you all, but also pleased. Kathy and I enjoyed going to nude beaches. We never thought of hanging out naked in the backyard, or socializing at home that way.”

“No one can see us, Greg, except you,” said Susan, implicitly indicating she didn’t mind if Greg saw her nude.

“And you don’t mind if I…”

“We don’t mind. You can take off your shorts. It’s fun!” said Susan, now sounding very eager. Marci laid crosswise on the lounger like an Egyptian princess might have done, supporting herself on her elbow. Greg’s view was now a direct line from Marci’s feet to her head. She looked alluring, to say the least. Susan now sat with her back slightly arched, which highlighted her bosom. Her legs were far enough apart to be suggestive.

Greg stood and dropped his shorts and underwear, stepped out of them and looked at his chair. “I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t bring a towel.”

Quite right, I thought. We should both have towels. I corralled the courage to get up and collect them for the men, which required going upstairs to the linen closet. When I came downstairs Marci was in the kitchen.

“Not more shots I hope,” I said.

“No. Greg needs a glass.”

“Right.”

“So, what do you think?” she asked.

“About Greg?”

“No. About Susan”

“What should I be thinking?”

“She’s making goo-goo eyes at Greg.”

“No. I hadn’t noticed. Maybe you’re imagining it.”

“Maybe… He is good looking, and he’s nice.”

“I suppose he is. Sure.”

“Did you see his cock? He’s a big boy.”

“Let me ask you, Marci. Is that a big turn on? They say size doesn’t matter and…”

“It matters,” she said. “But it can be too big too. It depends.”

“I see. So, you like his cock is what you’re saying.”

“Hmm. It’s nice to look at. Most men’s are kind of, I don’t know, not so nice. Anyway, cocks don't do much for me when I see them, you know, when I just see a cock. But Greg’s is nice looking. He doesn’t do much for me though. He’s not like you. You’re more my type, and I like your cock, but I have to admit seeing his cock was kind of exciting. It made me tingle a little.”

“Good to know. I can’t believe you invited him over. That wasn’t in the plan.”

“Did we have a plan? I forget.”

“Maybe it’s the booze… All that we intended to do was for you and Susan to sunbathe naked and see if Greg noticed. Then Susan was to decide if it turned her on to be seen naked by another man. It was pretty simple.”

“Oh, she likes it. Can’t you tell?”

“Tell? How?”

“She’s acting like a teenager with a crush, and she’s naked. That kind of dials it up.”

“Unlike for yourself, Marci, only a few men have seen her naked. Try to remember the first time you got naked with a man if you can think back that far.”

“You mean middle school? I can remember.” She laughed.

I laughed too. “So, for Susan, it’s still a little exciting. That’s my point.”

“I get it. Hey! It’s exciting for me, too. Women like being ogled by men. I mean, if they like them well enough. Greg seems okay, even if I don’t want to bang him. I wonder what they’re doing now. Should we leave them alone?”

“What the hell are you thinking? Of course not.”

What was she thinking? That they could be screwing?

We returned to Greg and Susan who, in fact, we’re not screwing but talking. He was leaning in with his elbows on his knees, and she was facing him. Her legs were even slightly more apart with her knees raised and drawn in tight. This posture emphasized her vulva, which looked especially full or ripe and ever so intimate. She was leaning back on her arms.

They were both laughing.

“What’s so funny?” asked Marci, as she sat next to Susan, who moved to make room for her.

“We were talking about last weekend,” said Susan. “When Greg caught me in my underwear.”

“Oh, that!” said Marci. “Did she tell you how horny it made her?” She laughed, but Susan’s face turned a deep red. No one said anything.

I left space for Susan to comment, but she seemed in shock over Marci’s remark. Feeling for her, I spoke. “Greg, what Marci means is
