“Daddy, you have all my patience in the whole world.”
I smile. “Such a sweet boy to me.”
“You deserve it, Daddy.”
“Thank you. So if you want to be in a relationship with me, if you want to try, then I want to try too.”
Bentley’s eyes go wide. “You mean it?”
“Absolutely. I’m happy when you’re around, Bentley. I thought it was gonna be a long time before I was happy again. But maybe you’re right. Maybe all along, I was meant to meet you and to be yours.”
A sweet smile spreads across his face. “Meant to be my what?”
I smile, brushing my thumb across his chin. “Meant to be your Daddy.”
Bentley’s eyes flutter as his cheeks blush. “I knew it. I knew you were meant to be mine.”
“You did, and I’m so thankful that you had such confidence. You helped me see that we could be something amazing together. I want that with you, and I hope, someday, that it becomes love.”
The look on his face right now, pure awe, so sweet and filled with affection, makes me feel things I can’t describe. I think it’s possible that Bentley is already in love with me, or at least thinks he is. The idea of someone so sweet and kind and everything I’ve always hoped for loving me overfills me like a balloon with too much helium. I could burst at my very seams.
I lean forward and kiss his soft lips. “Thank you, Bentley.”
“For what, Daddy?”
“For coming.”
He smiles, rubbing my beard with his fingers. “You’re welcome, Daddy.”
He starts to shift, but I hold his hip. “Before you go, I know you mentioned that you had Daddies in the past who were not faithful.”
Bentley’s smile fades. “Yes.”
“What I just said about no one seeing you because you’re mine...I want to elaborate on that.”
He nods, his face tense with nerves again.
“First of all, I am exclusive to you and will remain so.”
The tension slightly eases.
“And when I say you’re mine, I want you to understand what that means to me.”
“Okay.”
“It means that we have our private relationship, separate from any public version.”
He tilts his head. “I don’t understand.”
I nod, considering my words. “The day may come when we go public and the industry knows about us. You never know, maybe we’ll perform together someday.”
His cheeks instantly turn red. “Oh, Daddy. Stop.”
Smiling, I rub his back. “You never know. Anyway, my point is, regardless of what we do publicly, what we have privately is precious to me.”
“I understand now.” His fingers rest on my check. “Thank you.”
I kiss him before he climbs off my lap. My boy hustles out of bed, looking around the bedroom again for something to wear.
“Open the top drawer over there, boy, and grab one of Daddy’s T-shirts.”
He does so, grabbing a white T-shirt and pulling it over his slender body. Damn, he looks good like that.
“How do I look, Daddy?”
“Good enough to eat, pretty boy. You better go before I pull you back to bed.”
Bentley giggles. “That’s not much of a threat, Daddy.”
I laugh. “No, I suppose it’s not, but Daddy operates a lot better on coffee.”
“Me too,” he says before rushing out of the room.
I pull myself up and head to the bathroom to take care of my morning needs and brush my teeth. Today, we need to sit down with Matteo and figure out a plan. Since we’re local, we can offer to be available for anything that he might need to get the place ready to be his studio. In the meantime, Bentley and I also need to figure out what we’re going to do. I think the one thing I can offer him, which is much better than my tainted name, is money.
I’ve been frugal over the years, knowing that my career as a performer had a limit on it. I saved as much money as possible after buying my house. I can definitely invest in his business. But I know that I’ll need to present it the right way. If I suggest just giving him money, he’ll scoff. If I don’t come up with a proper plan, he might give up his own interests to please me. The right thing to do would be to have my lawyer write up a fair agreement. I’m just not sure what I want. Do I want to be a partner? Do I want to be a private investor? I suppose that’s something I need to talk out with Bentley.
He returns to the room a few minutes later carrying two mugs of coffee. He sets them on the nightstand and then climbs back into the bed with me. I hand him a drink, and we sit quietly for a few minutes.
“Bentley, we need to talk about the business.”
He frowns immediately. “You didn’t change your mind, did you?”
“No. I didn’t change my mind, but I want to talk about the specifics.”
“Okay.”
I notice right away that his demeanor changes from sweet boy to the confident Bentley I met at the convention a month ago. He squares his shoulders and his features neutralize.
“What do you want to talk about, Legend?”
Oh, he even used my name instead of Daddy. I see what we’re doing here.
“Well, we talked about going into business together, right?”
“Yes,” he nods, sipping his coffee.
“What does that look like for you? Have you ever thought about having a business partner before?”
“Sure. I’ve thought about it,” he answers, his voice strong and clear, and devoid of the giggly, seductive boy. “I’ve thought of different ways that I could go about making it happen. Including sponsors, business partners, angel investors, and even asking my parents.”
“You would ask your parents to fund your porn business?”
“Well, I don’t tell them it’s porn.”
