shower.

Hunt walked up behind me, sans glasses, and pressed himself bodily against me.

“I love you,” I said quietly.

Again, not quietly enough because Sin said, “I think I love you, too!”

There was a loud smack, and then, “Ow! Fuck! Zach! You’re a doctor. You’re not supposed to cause people harm. Isn’t that against the warrior’s creed?”

“Doctor’s oath,” Zach corrected. “And I think I proved that I wasn’t all that doctor-like when I killed that kid for running over my girlfriend. Remember?”

“Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. Did it feel good to do it in the moment? Because when I almost killed that man for hurting my girl, I thought for sure it would feel better when I was done. It didn’t. It felt worse, because I made it end too quickly.”

“Oh my God.” The obvious millionaire who should really be in his motor home groaned. “Y’all are sick. Sick individuals!”

The man still didn’t leave.

I reached for the soap that was on the stall between Zach’s shower and mine and yanked it down toward me.

“I was using that,” Zach drawled.

I used some and rubbed it into my hair.

“It smells like man,” I called out. “Where did you buy this? It looks salon grade.”

“I don’t know,” Zach said as I handed it to Hunt. “My mom orders it for me and has it sent to my house.”

I felt my lips tip up into a smile.

Hunt replaced the bottle as I washed the shampoo out of my hair.

I did the same with Zach’s conditioner.

But when I reached for his razor, he took it off the shelf.

“There’s a lot of things that I will allow,” Zach drawled. “And you using my razor isn’t one of them.”

I snickered.

“You can use mine!” Sin called. “I’m throwing it out after this use. Blades are dull.”

I took the one that was handed to me over the shower stall on the opposite side.

Then proceeded to shave my legs and bikini line with it.

I shook my head when I was done.

“Sin,” I called. “This razor is perfect. There’s no reason to throw it away.”

“Keep it,” he called as the sound of his bag zipping sounded.

Then the clink-clink of the shower curtain zipping backward on the metal pole it was attached to sounded, and Sin said, “Wow. You really are in silk house pants.”

“You’re disgusting,” the interloper hissed.

The shower turned on next to me and Trick said, “You could at least make sure that the shower curtain is closed all the way, man. Nobody wants to see your flat ass and taint!”

There was a sound of indignation, and then all the men’s laughter, including Hunt’s.

I finished up what I was doing, then headed out to the dry part of the stall where our towels were poking out of Hunt’s bag.

He turned off the shower right behind me, and together we dried off and dressed.

When I once again was clothed, my face fully flushed because I knew that Sin hadn’t left, I exited the stall.

And, of course, he was there at the bathroom counter brushing his teeth.

One look at me had me exiting the door and going into the girl’s bathroom.

There I brushed, flossed, and moisturized.

When I was done, I walked to the campsite where Six was making s’mores.

“You banged someone in the bathroom?” Six called out.

I flipped her off. “I banged my husband. Not ‘someone.’”

There was an indignant huff behind me, and I turned to see a man in silk pants, a silk t-shirt, and a perpetual sneer staring at me in disgust.

He walked past me in a tizzy toward his million-dollar camper—for real, it had so much flash it was gaudy—and stomped up his steps.

“One would think that in a camper like that he would be able to get a shower,” Trick grumbled.

He sat down on the log next to his wife but grinned wickedly at me.

I felt my face heat.

Sin and Hunt walked up seconds after that, taking a seat on either side of me, Hunt much closer than Sin.

I leaned into him and tried not to be embarrassed for what I’d just done.

The bad thing was, I wasn’t embarrassed at all.

Not even a little bit.

We spent the next two hours making dinner by the fire, eating s’mores, and having a wonderful time.

It was the best night I’d had in a very long time.

It was when we got back to the cabin that I picked my phone up for the first time.

I was so fucking relaxed that I didn’t think at all when I saw the voicemail, then placed the phone to my ear to call the number back.

I hadn’t even given it a second thought.

One second, I saw the missed call, then I realized that they’d left a voicemail and I’d pressed ‘call back.’

It was as the hate-filled voice answered that I realized my mistake.

“I can’t believe you took my fucking money, you evil, conniving, sniveling brat!” Stella’s hate-filled voice filled my ear.

I froze, and the man that was so in tune with me tensed when he recognized my stillness.

He pulled out his phone from his jeans pocket and tapped some things, then placed it to his ear.

“I’m sorry, what?” I asked.

“You know what you did.” Stella growled. “You stole everything! How am I supposed to live, you stupid bitch?”

I frowned hard when I realized what it was that I was hearing.

“You mean, how are you supposed to live on nothing like you’re expecting me to do right now?” I asked tonelessly. “If it wasn’t for my husband, I’d be up shit creek right the fuck now.”

Stella made a growling sound in her throat. “You’re just like your father and mother,” she ground out. “Always about you, you, you. Never thinking about the little people that don’t have it all. Do you think I have a sugar daddy out there waiting for me? No. I have a regular life. Do you think that it’s normal to just have someone that does that for you? It’s not. Most normal people have to come by their fortunes on their own. Like
