“I am,” Gabe admitted. “The best of both worlds, how?” he asked. His friend seemed curious and that was a good sign.
“I’ve told Violet how I feel about you. I was all set to break up with her. I even admitted that being with her didn’t stop me from wanting you,” he said. Zander almost told him that he was in love with him, but now wasn’t the time. They had to crawl before they could walk and if Gabe didn’t agree to this next part, all this would be for nothing.
“What did she say?” Gabe asked. “I mean, I take it she was fine with it since you two are still together and all.”
“She took it better than well,” Zan said. “She’s in.”
“In?” Gabe asked.
“She wants to see if the three of us can make things work. What do you say?” Zander asked, feeling as if he was holding his damn breath again.
“I don’t know. Violet and I don’t even know each other, Zan,” Gabe admitted.
“I get that,” Gabe whispered. He reached for Zander’s hand. “Just promise me that you’ll keep an open mind.”
Gabe smiled and wrapped his arms around Zander’s waist, pulling him in for another kiss. “I’ll keep an open mind,” he promised. He sealed his mouth over Zander’s and for now, Gabe’s promise was enough.
Violet
Violet Channing waited at the table that Zander had reserved for their dinner date. She had let him convince her to add a third to their relationship and although she found the idea hot as hell, she was scared to death this plan of his wouldn’t work. Zander admitted to her that he was in love with Gabriel Quick and she couldn’t blame him—Gabe was hot as sin. His dark hair and baby blue eyes made her want to lick Zan’s cell phone when he showed her the picture of his friend. Zander had a picture of him and his friend on his phone and they were both beautiful, although opposites. Zan had blond hair and hazel eyes and was a little bigger than Gabe. He had his arm around his friend and Violet could see how much he cared for Gabe. She could also see the same in Gabe’s eyes and knew that as soon as Zan admitted to having feelings for him, Gabe would admit to the same. She wanted in—she wanted to be a part of whatever they were going to have together because she had already fallen in love with Zander, not that she told him that yet. It was too soon. They had only been together for about two months and no normal person fell in love in just eight weeks. She had always been a little quick on the draw though. Violet worried that telling Zan that she had gone and foolishly fallen in love with him would scare him off. She was hoping that in time, he’d come to feel the same way about her, and the night that he sat her down to have what he called, “A big talk,” she felt stupidly giddy. When he opened up to her and told her that he was bisexual and in love with his best friend, Gabriel, she thought he was going to dump her, not ask her to have a threesome with them. The way he explained it, what they would have would be more than a threesome. He called it a polyamorous relationship.
Violet foolishly ran home that night and pulled out her laptop to do some research. That was what she was good at since she was Zander’s research assistant, she wanted to know what she was getting herself into if she decided to say yes to him. Violet knew that she had her hands full with one wolf shifter—two might prove disastrous, but she was a powerful witch who liked a challenge. So, she agreed, and here she was, waiting for them both to show up for their first dinner date.
“Hey,” Zander breathed into her hair. He leaned over her shoulder and kissed her cheek. “You look beautiful.” She felt her cheeks heat as they always did when he complimented her. A part of her thought he liked making her blush, he spent so much time trying to get her to do it.
“Thank you,” she said. “You look very handsome too.” He was wearing a pair of jeans and a dark sweater. Zan usually looked more like one of the college students on campus than a professor. He had a waitlist of female grad students wanting to work for him and she couldn’t blame them. He was funny, charming, and hot as hell. When she found out that her application had been selected she worried that she wouldn’t be able to live up to his expectations. He assured her that she had more than lived up to what he needed and when he asked her out, she couldn’t help herself—she told him yes. Violet didn’t care what that looked like to others on campus. She didn’t care if the other women, who didn’t get the job, talked about her behind her back. Being with Zander was worth it. If those women were talking now, wait until they found out that she was with not one, but two professors at Graystone. Violet was sure that she was going to be the talk of the town.
Zan sat across from her and pushed back a long strand of her purple hair. He seemed to like that she was daring with her fashion choices. Plus, with a name like Violet, purple hair seemed to work for her.
“You ready for this?” he asked. “Now is the time to tell me if you want to back out, Honey,” he offered.
There was no way that she’d want out of their deal now. She had been thinking about this
