her ass with it. She has the nerve to make an O shape with her lips, looking like a sexy porn star.

“You’re trouble.” I chuckle.

“The right kind though.”

“Play the damn game,” I snap with no real heat.

I grab my beer and take a pull. We fall into a natural banter. The tension from earlier is blown away by our ability to chill with each other.

“Would you say you have a photographic memory?” she says sometime later.

I take my next shot and watch it go in. Leaning on the pool stick, I look at her. I’ve never thought about it to be honest.

“I guess you could say that, but it’s more than that because I can listen to information and retain it as well. I never forget how to get to a place I’ve been before. Once you say your name, if I’m in front of you to take in your face, I’ll remember it forever.

“I process information pretty fast too. I guess you would say it goes a bit beyond having a photographic memory.”

“Yeah, I don’t have anything like that. I studied my tail off to get my grades.” She laughs.

I purse my lips. “I’ve seen you work on designing a car and engine. You’re your own genius. Even if I memorized all the textbooks on that shit, I don’t think I could apply the knowledge the way you do.”

“Thanks, that’s big, now that I know the words are coming from a super genius,” she says with a grin. “Leo is extremely smart too. Are you sure that man is your daddy?”

I bark out a laugh. “I’ve always wondered the same thing. Are you still thinking about adding on the motocross track?”

She pauses and her mouth hangs open. Her brows draw into the center of her forehead. I lift a brow.

“Wow, you really do retain information. I haven’t talked about that in years. I couldn’t talk my cousin into moving here to Vander to help me, so I dropped the idea.”

“What does he have against Vander? There are worse places to be.”

“She… Lex is a she.” She scrunches up her face and frowns. “I don’t know. I stopped pushing. Ven’s Whips and Toys is my thing. I respect her wishes.”

“I could look into some people to come down and help you if you ever decide to rethink it. Hell, that would be fun just for the crew when we get together. I’ll toss in an investment,” I offer.

“Look at you. Always a businessman. I’ll keep the offer in mind. I haven’t had time to think about anything lately,” she says the last part and looks down at the floor.

Damn, I didn’t mean to make her sad. I scramble for a new subject. I’ve been enjoying the conversation. I don’t want it to stop.

Skittles

I get lost in my head for a second. Before this stuff with Shawna started, I had been thinking about going into a contract for sponsorship for a car I’ve been designing. Now, I can’t think about a design or contracts or anything else most days.

I don’t know when I’ll be able to focus again. Will Shawna need my help once I get her back. Will she need therapy?

I’m here for whatever she needs. Shawna isn’t like Lex, but if Lex were here, she’d want to help. Ugh! My thoughts are so exhausting. All Pit did was ask me about a motocross track and now my mind is spiraling.

“Was the Maserati the last car you bought?” Pit says, getting my attention.

“Huh? Oh, no. I have a truck on preorder.”

He barks out a laugh. “I’ve never understood why you buy so many cars when you can build them yourself.”

I smile. “It’s about the art. I like taking them apart to put them back together again and some of them are just so beautifully made, I need to have them just because,” I explain.

“O-kay,” he draws out.

He goes to make his next shot. He’s been beating my tail. I’m silently stewing about it.

It’s him. He’s a complete distraction. The only thing I have been able to focus on. Between his sexy rumbling voice, the interesting conversation, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and his loose tie and open dress shirt, how am I supposed to pay attention to the game?

He’s leaning over the table lining up his shot and I swear I start to pant. The muscles in his tatted arms flex, his pecs beckoning my tongue. The stress of this week tells me I deserve to get lost in that body.

He looks up and catches me staring at him. He makes the shot without looking away from me. It’s so sexy, I squeeze my thighs together.

He straightens and leans the cue stick up against the table. With the crook of his finger, he says, “Enough talking. Come here.”

His voice is filled with lust. My panties are soaked. I place my cue in the holder on the wall as I round the table to get to him.

He cups my face when I stop before him. My breasts are nearly heaving out of my dress. His simple touch is enough to make my essence flow down my legs.

“Do you know I’ve been taking it easy with you?” he says.

“What?”

He gives a wicked smile. “I haven’t done you dirty yet, Ven. I have levels. You’ve seen one, two, maybe a glimpse of three.”

“So, what you’re saying is that you’ve been stingy.” I shake my head. “I’m so disappointed. Here I’ve been giving you my all.”

He leans in until our lips are within a breath of each other. “However should we rectify this?”

“Take me to the max, big boy. Show me everything you’ve got. You want it, own it.”

“Oh, say less, baby.”

In one swift motion, he grabs the back of my neck and spins me. My back is now to his front. He moves my hair over one shoulder, before slowly trailing his fingers from the nape of my neck down to the zipper of my dress.

Just as slowly,
