โYes, my king,โ Horna smiled a nod. โDo you not approve?โ
โNo, I do approve,โ I grinned.
โGood, good,โ she nodded vigorously, causing her eyeglasses to slip down her slightly-upturned pixie nose. She pushed the frames up with one manicured finger. There was nothing soldierly or military about Horna. She projected the air of an executive assistant on her first day at work. โShall I escort you to your first appointment, my king?โ
I wanted to ask if it would be in the bedroom behind me with her, Captain Theia, and my waiting โorgyโ of Shock Knights. Instead, I said, โWhoโs my first appointment?โ
โFirst Lieutenant Mira, Air Guard, my king.โ
โAir Guard? Really,โ I said rhetorically, suddenly remembering how badly I wanted to learn to pilot an Air Guard mech, and that I had requested a flying lesson yesterday after disposing of Titano.
โYes, my king,โ Horna smiled. โThe lieutenant is one of our best pilots. She instructs all the new battle mech cadets here at the outpost.โ
โSheโs an instructor too?โ
โThe best we have, my king. Better than the best.โ
โNice. Can she instruct me how to pilot a battle mech?โ
โIโm sure she can, my king. Sheโs waiting for you now on the landing deck.โ
Tough choice.
Taking a future-tech battle mech for a spinโฆ or an โorgyโ of Shock Knights and Horna?
Iโd never had a harder choice than this.
โ: Chapter 32 :โ
I strolled through the hexagonal corridor, followed by Horna, Captain Theia, and my โorgyโ of Shock Knights.
Youโre hating me right now for picking the piloting lesson with First Lieutenant Mira of Air Guard.
Patience, young jedi.
Orgies are forthcoming.
It is the law, after allโฆ
Suddenly, the corridor lights went blinking red and a buzzer sounded.
Enh! Enh! Enh! Enh!
A loud female voice echoed from the comm buttons on everyoneโs collars, and from a hidden PA system, saying stridently:
โCONTROL TO ALL BASE PERSONNEL! BASE IS UNDER ATTACK! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! I REPEAT, BASE IS UNDER ATTACK! TO YOUR BATTLE STATIONS! I REPEAT, TO YOUR BATTLE STATIONS!โ
Although I and my Shock Knights stood still in the corridor, every other guardswoman in uniform went jogging in one direction or another.
So much for my piloting lesson. Like my forthcoming royal orgy, I deeply hoped it would happen soon.
โCrown to Control,โ I said over comms. โWhatโs going on?โ
โControl to Crown! Ursa here! A Chaos Fold Point opened up near the outpost, my king!โ
โA what?!โ
โItโs some kind of a Fold Gate! Iโve never seen anything like it! And thereโs a Xeno army pouring out!โ
โXeno?!โ I blurted in disbelief. โWhatโs a Xeno again?!โ
โAliens!โ
โCan you be more specific?โ
โYou better see for yourself, my king!โ
I didnโt even know what a Chaos Fold Point or Fold Gate was. I knew Fold Points were like wormholes, and were used to hop around the universe โ with the help of a largish spaceship equipped with X-Drive โ but that was the extent of my knowledge.
In the middle of the corridor, a floating 3D holographic window popped into space in front of me and my erotic entourage. It displayed the craziest thing Iโd ever seen, and that was after you took into account my prior battles against giant Titanosaurs and flying Terrorsaurs, Tristurtian Gorlaks, Space Gorillas, Goldie the Gargantua, Slasher Bats, Mrs. Mountainous, and the jungle full of carnivorous plants outside the outpost.
This horde of abominations was crazier.
They were bursting from a large irregular disc of churning and spiraling triangular shards. That I recognized as a Fold process of some kind, making this the Chaos Fold Point. Where it led was anybodyโs guess.
Coming out of it were four immense, armored knights โ my guess would be the knights were at least 3 meters tall โ and they rode gigantic robot horses while galloping across the sky near the outpost. Their hooves were aflame with plasma hellfire. Each knight wore a different color of armor.
One black knight.
One red knight.
One white knight.
One radiation green knight โ he glowed with toxic brilliance.
The color of their steeds matched the color of their armor, as did their weaponry.
Black, red, white, or radiation green.
Each knight carried an elaborate high-tech lance that was currently poised vertically. In their other hand, a large tower shield. Their helmet design โ and armor โ was elaborate and awe-inspiring. A futuristic blend that was equal parts Warhammer fantasy and high-tech anime, remixed by the Weta Workshop into something twice as badass and thrice as menacing.
They were leading what I can best describe as a roiling horde of vicious, roaring, and slavering space demons, ranging in size from a single meter to several, some of them five or six or seven meters tall. To a beast, these heavily-muscled demons were a mutant mix of reptile, gorilla, shark, lion, giant squid, dinosaur, grizzly bear, and every other apex predator you can name.
Many of these beasts were generally humanoid. Each had a head, torso, arms, legs, optional tails. The number of each appendage varied from demon to demon. One head or two, in rare cases three. Anywhere from two arms to six. Two legs, four, or even six. One, none, or more tails.
The other non-humanoid demons had Lovecraftian tentacles, excessive appendages, too many mouths, twice as many tongues, in some cases seemingly infinite eyes. In general, each of these non-humanoid individuals was a combination of abominations. Regarding locomotion, some flapped their bat-like demon wings. Others had massive feathered wings. Others seemed to levitate with no visible means of support. Still others floated aloft on gaseous expulsions emitted from fleshy valves.
Many of the humanoid demons rode giant mutant space snakes slithering through the air like flying, giant eels. The snaking eel-things all had too many fangs and too many spiny growths and/or spikes on their undulating bodies.
One fact divided them into four distinct groups.
Their color.
Like the respective knight and horse around which they gathered, they were monochromatic: one group of demons was entirely black, one entirely red, one entirely white, and one radiation green.
As for weaponry, the space demons carried big bolt rifles or had bolt cannons grafted onto their limbs, torsos, or heads.
