All agreed and offered their help to the others if ever needed as well. They looked back toward the building and walked for the door. It burst open and the High Marshall himself marched from the building. He took in the sight of the party and smiled.
โLooks like the champions have arrived. Congratulations adventurers.โ
โThank you, High Marshall,โ the group all responded.
โBecause of all of you, this area will be much safer. As a token of my appreciation, Iโd like to present you with this special writ. This world needs more brave souls like you to help govern and lead. Present this writ at Nirithan to the registrarโs office there for your choice of governance position,โ The High Marshal told them as he walked to each and handed a rolled scroll.
The Marshal shook each of their hands and told each of them good work before he turned and walked from the plaza toward the city center. The group looked at each other in shock and then entered the building.
โGreetings, adventurers. Do we have our champions in front of us?โ One clerk asked.
They each stepped forward and accepted their rewards. The clank of small sacks of gold filled the room, and Atlas stepped forward to a clerk when Jammin finished turning in her own quest.
โIโm here to turn in the quest,โ he told the man, and the quest box popped up.
Event Quest - The Wild Hunt (Part 2)
Requirements
โข Finished The Wild Hunt (Part 1)
Quest Rarity: Rare
Quest Reward: 500 experience, 5 silver. 5 Gold to the winning team.
Description: You successfully killed Goreclaw. Turn in the quest to the registrarโs office.
Do you wish to complete the quest? Yes/No.
He hit Yes to complete the quest. The coins felt great in his hands and he stashed them in his pack. A glance at his finances showed him sitting around six and a half gold from all the quest rewards. He turned to leave the office when a thought hit him.
โExcuse me,โ he said as he waved at the clerk.
โIs there something else I can help you with?โ
โMaybe,โ Atlas started, โIf I leave some equipment with you, can you ensure it gets to the owner?โ
โWe rarely do stuff like that. Thereโs no guarantee theyโll ever visit here again.โ
โItโs for the other champion. One of our members died, but they were a Reborn. Sheโll respawn and come turn in her quest. I wanted to leave her gear with you so you could give it back.โ
โWell, since itโs for a champion, we can make an exception. Weโll store her gear here and give it back. Whatโs her name, just so we can verify?โ
โShe is PrettyPrincess. A warrior,โ he told the clerk as he handed over the equipment. Her bag of coins was the last item he placed in his hand. The clerk nodded, and Atlas thanked him for his help.
Emerging from the building, he took a deep breath and sighed in contentment. The air was a little foul in the city, but he just completed the first event of the game as the winner and it felt good. He spun, not sure what to do at first. After thinking through his options, he decided he needed to visit Master Proth. With his levels gained, he could learn Harmony.
He stepped foot on the tree-lined porch and walked through the door. Master Proth sat in a chair with a book in his hand. A steaming cup of what looked like tea sat in front of him. Sweat beaded off the side of the metal cup.
โHey, Master Proth,โ Atlas said with a wave.
โAh, Atlas. How goes the leveling?โ
โNot bad. Up to level nine. Working on ten. Had to finish the event first. Wanted to pick up Harmony from you before I continued with my leveling.โ
โExcellent work. Here you go,โ he said.
The menu popped up in front of him and Atlas chose the Harmony spell. It cost him 30 copper, but that was a trifle to him now. He selected the Learn button, and the skill was now his.
Druid Spell - Harmony
Requirements
โข Druid Class
โข Level 8
Description: Draw on the power of nature to heal your target. This ability restores health over time.
Restores 3 HP every 5 seconds for 50 seconds.
Mana Cost: 10 MP
โSo, howโd the hunt go?โ the master druid asked.
โWent great. I was actually on the winning team. That reminds me. Are transformation spells rare?โ
Master Proth perked up at that and closed his book.
โTransformation spells? That depends. Some are very rare, while others not so much. You will actually have a quest when you are higher level that lets you chose one out of three transformations you wish to learn. Acquiring others can be tricky. Why do you ask?โ
โWell, Goreclaw was the last boss of the event and when I killed him he dropped Soul of the Dire Bear. I used it and can now transform into a dire bear myself.โ
โThatโs amazing!โ Proth said as he stood, โYouโre extremely lucky. Dire Bear souls have such a low drop rate that most people stopped farming for them. There arenโt a lot of dire bears around, so finding them can be difficult. With Goreclaw being a boss, he probably had a better drop rate than others. You have something very special there. The transformation into a dire bear is a coveted thing and can be super beneficial.โ
โIt was pretty neat to fight as a bear. There is one large drawback. While fighting in the transformation, I received no prompting on how to block or counter. It would only let me stand there and take the damage.โ
โThat transformation has that downfall early on. You can learn new abilities and fix some of those gaps, but it takes time. I only personally know one person with that transformation and have only heard of one other. The only hint I can give you is they said they had success fighting other bears to learn from
