its original position, and by the time it did get back to its original position, John was travelling a few hundred thousand miles per hour backwards.

John was flung back into outer space.

Chapter 34: *Spoiler*

John used the Chaos Power and the light element to stop himself. When he came to a stop, he only used Chaos Power to travel back towards the barrier.

As he got closer, he could see the dark-purple barrier which spread in every direction. He could see for miles, yet all he could see was the barrier.

If what O’Malley said is true, then this barrier might cover the entire milky way or even an entire universe, so there’s no way to go around it.

They’ve probably tried all sorts of things—that I can’t even think of—to get through without any success, so there’s no point trying to force my way through.

John flew to the barrier and touched it, but nothing happened.

My Absorb option is on, but this is actually strong enough to stop it.

The barrier was flexible for the most part like the force field the Transcendents setup on the battlefield. When he pushed the barrier forward using his arm, he felt no resistance until he got to a certain point, then it pushed him back, acting like a spring.

John opened his system and went into the Completed List tab.

He looked through the skills that might be able to help him, but nothing came to mind until he saw one of the newest skills.

Soul:

Separation: Separate the soul from the body but keep your senses. When your body is soulless, it will enter hibernation and keep all functions and passive skills active.

Is this why the skill was created? O’Malley talked about this barrier and how the souls came from the other side. He then mentioned the possibility of Earth being on the other side, and the system creates the skills using new information, so it’s plausible.

I get that my body will enter hibernation and nothing will happen to it, but I have a Demon inside me. When my soul leaves, can it take over my body, or is it impossible for it to take over when the soul isn’t there?

If I do this, then I just hope my mind parts continue cultivating, which should keep the demon busy.

According to what O’Malley said, the only way for this body to be destroyed is by a Demonic Sider. That means nothing should happen to this body when my soul is away.

The only problem I can think of is if someone takes the body, or if it drifts away from here while I’m gone, causing me to wander around in soul form.

I still think it’s worth the risk.

John made sure he wasn’t drifting in any direction before he closed his eyes and used the Soul Separation skill.

When he opened his ‘eyes’ again as a soul, he saw the same thing as before. He turned around, only to see his body floating there.

He turned back around and moved towards the barrier. When John got next to the barrier, he wanted to touch it again to see if being a soul would allow passage, but he realised he didn’t have arms anymore.

He wanted to take a deep breath to help calm himself down, but then he realised he wasn’t breathing as a soul.

John floated up to the barrier and expected it to put up some resistance, but the soul passed through it without any trouble.

The dark-purple Chaos Power surrounded him, but it didn’t harm or stop him. He found out that he could use Chaos Power while he was still a soul, so he used a single unit of Chaos Power to push him forward.

John couldn’t figure out how fast he was going, but he counted the minutes since he passed the barrier.

Ten minutes later, he came out of the barrier. What greeted him were stars and asteroids—nothing else. There were no small amounts of Chaos Power in outer space like there were on the other side of the barrier.

John was still travelling at an incredible speed and he soon came towards a huge asteroid.

It didn’t have an atmosphere, water, soil, or anything else that a planet might have.

After he arrived on this asteroid, John had an idea.

He had only taken a little over an hour to get here, so even if the idea didn’t work, he wouldn’t have lost anything.

He turned around and used another Chaos Power unit to travel back towards the barrier.

An hour later, he arrived back on the other side. He had moved a bit away from his body, but he found it after a few minutes of searching.

Floating to his body, he entered it through his head.

John woke up after a few seconds. He found it extremely weird to be in soul form with no limbs, so when he gained control of his body again, he moved his arms, legs and neck.

He then opened up the system to see if his idea had worked.

On the universal map, the barrier was shown at the very top of the universe, and to his delight, he saw the huge asteroid on the other side of the barrier.

He zoomed in on the asteroid and he knew his idea worked because he found a patch of green on it. Moving his icon on that patch of green, the system asked him if he wanted to teleport there, to which he clicked on yes.

The view he saw changed as the system teleported him to the asteroid that he was on in soul form only an hour ago, causing him to smile.

It worked? Great!

I have no idea how it worked, though! The barrier could stop my physical body, but my system’s teleport skill can bypass the barrier as long as I’ve visited the place before?

That means my system must be unique somehow even compared to other systems.

So, now what? This universe could be the same size or even bigger than the universe I just came from and I have no idea
