Out of all the bros, Hunter has definitely vocalized his disdain at my leaving for the holidays. He even asked Lucas to have his parents fly my family out here. I chuckled at the memory. “People go home for the holidays,” Seth had said, although he also seemed pretty bummed. Although, Lucas did seem pretty keen on the idea. He probably would’ve went through it if Seth hadn’t stopped him. I sighed. I really am going to miss them.

All of them.

With one last tug, my suitcase closes. I wipe the imaginary sweat from my forehead and stand.

“Done!” I look down at the gigantic thing. “Can someone please help me?”

Seth comes to my bedroom door, standing in the threshold with his hands on his hips. He looks down at my suitcase and makes a face. “You must be kidding me?”

I hold back my giggles, knowing it’s just going to upset him more.

“I thought I told you to pack lightly.”

I shrug. “Too late to repack now,” I say. He opens his mouth and I quickly add, “Just a moment ago you said we were running late.”

A horn beeps behind us, only emphasizing my point. It’s most likely Lucas with the car, I assume. Seth goes to my window, opening it and looking outside with a scowl.

“Lucas?” I ask.

Seth slams the window shut and stomps towards me. “You do realize you won’t have any of us there at transfer to help you lug this thing around the airport, right?”

I chuckle. “I know, I know. Just down the stairs? Please?”

Seth frowns and I can tell he’s not upset with me, but the fact I’m leaving. Two weeks isn’t a long time, I tell myself. I’m tempted to tell Seth, but I know he’ll never admit to missing me.

Some things never change.

“Fine,” he mutters while shoving past me. “Hunter!” He calls. “Rachel needs help with her suitcase!”

I fight the need to shoot him a glare. It’s so typical he makes his bros do the heavy, dirty work for him. But then again, Hunter is pretty strong. I’m sure my suitcase would be like carrying nothing.

Hunter strides inside and sweeps me a mocking bow. “At your service,” he says in a terrible British accent before grabbing my suitcase and pulling it behind him like he is pulling a small toy wagon.

“What the fuck is taking so long!” Shouts Lucas while slamming open the door. His car keys jingle in his hand while he scowls at all three of us.

“Sorry,” I say hesitantly. “It’s my fault.”

His gaze softens. “You’re going to miss your flight at this rate.”

“Perfect!” Hunter calls while lugging my suitcase down the apartment steps.

“Be careful you don’t slip,” I call after him. Last thing his needs is to slip and fall. He’s still dealing with his shoulder pain.

“Alright,” says Seth while wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me towards him. “Let’s get this done and over with.”

I smile and allow him to lead us down the staircase and into Lucas’s car.

“Alright, you have our numbers?” Asks Seth while Lucas drives away from the sidewalk.

“Yes,” I say, trying not to laugh at how fatherly he sounds. “I promise to text.”

I stare out the window, watching the snow covered houses and the beautiful mountains behind them pass us by. I wonder if New York is just as snowy right now. We drive to the airport in silence. I glance over to Seth, seeing him watching me. His hand laces with mine and he gives me a gentle squeeze. I peak over Hunter’s shoulder and see the airport in the distance, knowing soon we will be parting ways. I sigh. I really wish I could stay. At least a bit longer.

“Seth, did you ask her about the thing?” Lucas says as we pull into the airport parking lot.

“What thing?” I ask. My gaze meets Seth’s again and I can see that he’s blushing.

“It’s kinda last minute but… we’re all meeting up for a New Year’s ski trip,” says Seth quickly as Lucas comes to the sidewalk in front of the airport. “You can always join us. If you want that is.”

“My parents have a cottage in the mountains around this area,” adds Lucas while unbuckling his seatbelt and turning around in the seat. “I can help with the plane ticket."

“But only if you’re not too busy,” says Hunter while also unbuckling and turning around.

I chuckle, glancing between all three boys. “Sounds like fun,” I say. “I’ll be there.”
