βMama, do you think they will have sweet meat after the wedding,β Benjamin whispered in Katherineβs ear.
She whispered back. βI believe so. You must be quiet, and I will try to find you some.β
He nodded his head as he looked back to the priest.
Her other daughters sat in front of her. Sara was married, and Joslyn had the single knights falling all over themselves trying to sit next to her. One look from Ian kept them at bay.
Watching Daniel kiss his bride with a look of love in his eyes brought a knot in her throat. Her baby was grown up. She thanked God for her gift of five children hoping she could make it through each one of their weddings.
She felt a tug on her arm that brought her out of her woolgathering. Turning her head, she felt Ian kiss her cheek. βDonβt fret sweetheart. You will always be his mother.β
She smiled and kissed him back. βWhy do they have to grow up?β
He smiled teasingly. βItβs okay, we can just have more.β
She widened her eyes and playfully punched him in the arm.
The End
