The Seeing Blind

My eyes have fluttered open
No longer one of the seeing blind
I’m running for the steep hill
Leaving reason far behind

My heart is beating faster
Not hindered by the pain
Of questions gone unanswered
My tears, they fall like rain

All my life I’m searching
Seeking for what’s true
Looking for the answers
I’ve found them all in you

My ears are free from deafness
I finally hear the song
Of angels long forgotten
They’ve sung it for so long

My eyes have fluttered open
The mist before them cleared
I’m reaching for the unknown
And everything I’ve feared

All my life I’m searching
Seeking for what’s true
Looking for the answers
I’ve found them all in you

Languorous Language

Your words blow through me like the wind through the trees
Nourishing me with your breath, filling me with your substance
I sway and am caught by your endearments, bedded by your whispers
Tickled by your golden tongue, I roll into your soliloquy
Only to be pounded by your firm language and vigorous verbiage
Satiated by your syllables, I curl up with curious commentary and quips
Drifting off to sleep to the sound of your sweet nothings in my ear

I Remember

I remember your face
I remember your laughter
I remember we used to be
happy ever after

I remember your clothes
I remember your hair
I remember the way
you used to sit and stare

I remember your smile
the way we used to kiss
Playing catch you used to
laugh when I would miss

I remember tears
running down your cheek
and coming home late at night
into the house we'd sneak

I remember you touch
your fingers through my hair
the way we used to talk
when we'd walk in the spring air

I remember when you left
I remember it so well
and sometimes every now and then
on your face I dwell

Fragile Memories

Those memories of times long past
tear at my mind looking for recognition
but I have tried to forget

the fragile memories that make me cry
that make me feel I surely must die
the fragile memories that ache in my heart
that make me feel I can never start
to love another

Those loving glimpses of laughter in your eyes
the bite of a sharp word from your tongue
always makes me regret

Those moments of tenderness and warmth
leave me on the brink of tears
but I have tried to forget

the fragile memories that make me cry
that make me feel I surely must die
the fragile memories that ache in my heart
that make me feel I can never start
to love another

the fragile memories that say goodbye
that never give a reason why
the fragile memories that leave me weak
that make it hard to look or speak
to any other

I Cry for Him

I watch him stand
a face in the crowd
and I cry for him

He's known to no one
loved by no one
utterly alone

I see his eyes
they're full of tears
cloudy and dim

His body shivers
from the cold
skin and bones

The street's his home
a child alone
I cry for him

Times of Splendor

Questions, reflections
based on memory
Clatter, shatter
in your mind
But I remember
times of splendor
when you were mine

Notions, potions
made in haste
Leaking, sneaking
into your blood
But you saved me
and my baby
from the flood

Do you hear the people shouting
in the din of the explosion?
Do you hear the children
crying in the rain?
I can see their hearts explode
from too much emotion
I can see their faces
contort in pain

Making, breaking
of the bodies
Crying, dying
in the mist
But you came
just the same
and we kissed

Do you hear the people shouting
in the din of the explosion?
Do you hear the children
crying in the rain?

I can see their hearts explode
from too much emotion
I can see a face
contort in pain

Neither ether
nor the poison
Creates, dictates
any great charm
But I remember
in a time of splendor
dying in your arms

The Wind Doth Blow

A gentle breeze the wind doth blow
a voice whispers 'Let her go'
Fingers caress, the body aches
inside the heart doth break
Tears flow, a silent stream
the fragile mind starts to scream
Little by little the pieces fall
echoes resound off the wall
Gentle breezes ease thy pain
outside it starts to rain
Bodies quiver, shake with sorrow
yearning heats ache for tomorrow
Thoughts are born into the night
carried away by birds in flight
All sounds stop, hearts start to mend
only to break once again
A gentle breeze the wind doth blow
a voice whispers 'Let her go'
