Through the yellow flickering lights, we reached a huge door, which was designed in some beautiful intricate ancient designs. There was a big poster in front, written โ€˜sold out.โ€™

โ€œLetโ€™s go inside.โ€ I was confused hearing him. Why were we entering a sold-out building? I turned a little to ask him when he shook his head.

โ€œYou can ask me a thousand questions later on.โ€ I closed my mouth, nodding at him.

He pushed the door and it opened slowly before I came across the spectacle in front.

A huge library.

My mind screamed at the huge bookshelves and thousands of books resting there. The staircase goes up to reach so many of the books, novels, and whatnot. I walked further inside, taking in the place.

The huge vintage walls were chipped, and old the white paint going off, while the huge bookshelves were as beautiful as new. They were mostly covered in dust, as if not been used for a long while, but still not a modicum of breakage or anything a good rub on their surfaces couldnโ€™t cure.

โ€œThis is outstanding.โ€ I walked towards the corner aisle, both sides lined with huge shelves reaching the ceiling. A gasp escaped my lips looking at the books on the shelves. The entire classics collection was lined up. I pulled out the Sense and Sensibility and opened it, and what I saw made my eyes huge like saucers.

It was a signed copy.

My finger grazed over the name, Jane Austen signed in there, and that was exactly what was her true handwriting. I looked up at Damien who had his hands folded over his chest, his lips in a smile as he followed behind me.

โ€œThis is a signed copy.โ€ He grinned, walking towards me, before taking another book from the shelf.

Wuthering Heights

And even it was also signed.

โ€œHow?โ€

โ€œThis library has some rare collection of books which are signed. These books are the original versions published in those days, one amongst the few.โ€ Surely, the cover was old and worn out, pages yellow and crisp but it was the original one. The thought itself made me almost jump in the air.

โ€œGosh! I canโ€™t believe it. Will they let us borrow some of these?โ€

โ€œThey are selling off the building and most probably they donโ€™t know what to do with these books.โ€ My heart was saddened at the knowledge. I hope they do something good with them, I wished to keep them to myself if they didnโ€™t have any place for them, but thatโ€™s too costly.

โ€œDid you like them?โ€

โ€œLike? I loved this.โ€ I walked further towards the other aisles and the books on the shelves, from mystery to fantasy everything was piled in there.

โ€œSo, what will you do if they are willing to give them to you?โ€ I chuckled at his words, shaking my head.

โ€œWhy will they even give me?โ€

โ€œI said suppose. Hypothetically if we imagine.โ€ I turned towards him, thinking hard.

โ€œObviously will treasure it to me. Thatโ€™s some rare collection. And above all theyโ€™re books and they in any form are precious to me.โ€ My fingers grazed over the covers, โ€œBut even if they give where will I keep them? They are thousands in number.โ€

โ€œWhy? In our house. We have the entire third-floor rooms unused, and one can easily accommodate all of these.โ€ My heart skipped a beat as I heard him say. He was so unaware of what his words affected me.

โ€œOur house?โ€ His eyebrows furrowed as he looked at me confused, his head tilted.

โ€œYes, our.โ€ His eyes darkened and before I know he has his arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer to his chest. โ€œWhy? Are you thinking of staying away from me?โ€ His voice was low and deep, making my knees go weak.

โ€œN-noโ€ฆโ€ I gasped feeling his lips on my throat.

โ€œYou're mine, Lilah, as much as Iโ€™m yours. So, no way of staying anywhere else or anything.โ€ I smiled at him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

โ€œI will stay where youโ€™re.โ€ He dropped his head low, catching my lips with him in a gentle kiss. It was so full of love, and affection that it made me wonder if I even deserve all the happiness he gave me. I should tell him about reading Zelena's diary soon since it felt like she was someone very important to her.

He pressed his forehead against mine, โ€œI have bought all of them.โ€ My body recoiled, a gasp escaping my lips as I looked at him wide-eyed.

โ€œWhat?โ€

He rubbed the back of his neck, his ear tips going red, โ€œYeahโ€ฆ they were selling off the books in the auction so I bought them.โ€

โ€œYou're that much of a reader?โ€

โ€œNo, Iโ€™m not. I thought you will like that since you know you love reading and all.โ€ I couldnโ€™t even imagine how much he must have spent to buy all of these.

โ€œWhy would you do that? So many of these! And thatโ€™s why you were asking Ash to recreate the rooms on the third floor?โ€

โ€œYeahโ€ฆโ€ He looked so cute, and nervous. Damien and cute, that sounds so odd together but I couldnโ€™t describe him anything else when he was doing such crazy things.

โ€œDamienโ€ฆโ€ I sighed, looking back at him, โ€œAre you even serious?โ€ He shrugged, being the least bothered, wrapping his arms around me, his head resting in the crook of my neck.

โ€œThey made you so happy, so it was all fine.โ€ I couldnโ€™t stop the moistening of my eyes at his crazy deed when I hugged him back.

โ€œyou shouldnโ€™t do such things for me, En. Like buying the entire library collection. Are you insane?โ€ His deep voice vibrated through my skin, as he laughed.

โ€œMaybeโ€ฆ I love youโ€ฆโ€ the hostility melted away as I heard him say that softly against my ears, my body going limp as he wrapped me more.
