When I enter the school I notice everyone is talking about the murdered teens. I don't see Elizabeth anywhere which isn't surprising. Her mom goes off the deep end when a murder happens. She probably wont be back at school until Thursday. I'm ripped from my thoughts when someone bumps into me. Great, it's Jason. "You should have been looking behind you," Jason says that smirk of his that I hate so much. I really, realy hate when my words are used against me though. "Whatever," I mumble before walking off to my class with a fustrated expression. The bell rings for the start of class, luckily I am siting down. When Mrs. Craig walks in she puts some problems on them board like usual. I don't even make it to the third question when Jason yells done. I nearly snap my pencil in half and throw it at him. This continues to happen throughout the periods. Worse part is I don't have my best friend to rant to! God! I eat silently by myself. Without Elizabeth I have nobody to talk to. When the bell rings for next period I happily dump my tray and head to class. The day finishes off at a slow pace but it none the less finishes. I grab my books and put them in my backpack. Great, now I have to walk home.
The air feels uneasy as I trot home. The sun is rapidly falling below the horizon. I get goosebumps when the wind hits my body. I pick up the pace, fear creeping over me. I tense when I hear footsteps. I remain calm however. If it is a killer or rapist at least he wont know I am onto him. When the footsteps quicken so do I, to the point where I am sprinting. Suddenly I am tackled to the ground by a large man. I hear a growl ripple through his throat as he puts his hands around my neck, atempting to choke me. I thrash and flay around until my body grows weak. My vision starts to blur right when another figure rams into the man. I let out a gasp of air once I was sure his hands were removed from my neck. I stare at the two figures, then I realize one of them is Jason. He is beating the crap out of the man. The man soon breaks free and dashes off. I stare at the blood on the pavement before my eyes linger over to Jason. He is sweating and breathing heavily. "Sorry you had to see that." he says wiping the sweat off his face. My instinct tells me to run but I stand still. Jason walks over to me, towing over me. Then before I know it I am falling to the ground. I feel someone catch me in their arms but I already know who.
Chapter 3I wake up to the sound of light arguing and a numbness I can't explain. My eyes roll to the side, causing me to stare at the door. It's cracked, and light is slightly beaming into the room. I manage to sit up but with much difficulty. My mind is clouded but I can still remember the events from the last time I was awake. I was about to die. That was until Jason came to my rescue. The next thing I know I am here. When the word 'here' crosses my thoughts I glance around the room. It isn't mine. Far from it. It smells like Jason, how do I know? I just seem to do. I finally get my legs to move. My feet hit the floor and my legs wobble beneath me, though I don't fall down. I stagger over to the door and open it up wide. The voices get louder and louder as I shuffle down the hall. I eventually find myself outside of a room, I can't help but listen in.
"What was I suppose to do?! Did you want me to leave her so the beta of the SpringField Skulk could kill her with his bare hands?"
"No, but your actions were too reckless. Do you have even the slightest idea what you have done to the pack and her?"
"Of course I do! But she was about to change anyway, so t's better she learns of her origins now then when she wakes up in a pool of one of her best friend's blood or worse, her mother."
"Hmm, considering this is your fault you will be he one to tend to her. Show her what it means to be a demon mutt. Is that understood?"
"Yes, sir."
I stood still, my already wobbly legs turning into jello. I was so lost in shock that I hadn't noticed someone grab me by the arms. I yelled out and turned to face my holder, only to see a large burly man with black eyes and blond hair. He growled but his growl was over shadowed by Jason's.
(Jason's POV)
"What the hell do you think you are doing Marcus? You better carry on down this hall before I rip out your damn throat." I said and watched as he let the girl go and scurried down the hall. My gaze then turned back to the female. Jenny was her name if I recalled correctly. "Looks like someone is awake. You shouldn't have left your room, some of these mutts aren't too friendly towards new arrivals." I watched her watch me, her eyes filled with curiousity and shock, maybe even a hint a fear.
"Where am I? What are you? What am I?" she asked.
Great, now I was stuck explaining everything to her. Maybe I should have just kept on walking, sadly I couldn't.
"Come with me." I said as I trotted back into the room, glancing back to make sure she was folowing me.
