Excerpt from the book:
Haunted by a Poem...
The words swirl and dance in her mind until Ella Montclair is forced to commit them to paper. The poem haunts her every night, the meaning of its words elusive. To keep her sanity she blocks the words from her mind.
An Unexpected Job Opportunity...
Ella can't believe her good fortune when she receives the job of a lifetime, research assistant to the great Lord Byron Thomas. As she is packing for her exciting journey, the poem that haunted her all those years ago resurfaces, leaving her to question fate. Why now? Why would the words resurface when she's about to embark on the greatest adventure of her life?
A Painting or a Portal...
Exploring Farnham Castle, her employer's latest research project, Ella finds an antique painting in one of the abandoned rooms. Compelled by an unseen force to touch the portrait, Ella is transported to the year 1888 and into the bedroom of Lord Wallace Hastings. Words of her poem begin to resurface as Ella struggles to find a way back to her time and the world she knows. Again, she questions their meaning. Will mere words haunting Ella from the past be her key back to her own time? What of the love she's begun to feel for the dashing Lord Hastings? Will the words of the poem that transported her Far Into Yesterday, bring her home again?

The gentleman sank into the chair beside his mother's. The standoff lasted for several minutes before the man spoke.
βMother, I want you to find some servant's clothing for Miss Montclair. Obviously, she can't stay at Farnham Castle. If she's discovered, she'll be shipped to Bedlam, and I don't want that on my conscience. We need to get her to Thomas Manor, and then try to sort this out.β
βBut Wallace, how will we explain her?β

Slowly, Lady Hastings stood, but when she saw the expression on her son's face, she hastened out the door.

Ella hugged her arms around her knees and nodded.
