to be called Allen.”
“Cool.”
“What’s your’s?”
“Annebelle, but I liked to be called Summer.”
“Cool.”
We both started laughing. It was cool. We talked for a couple minutes and he asked me if he could walk me to the car. I wasn’t going to need any help, “No, um I’m fine. Thank you though, nice guy, is that your way with all the girls?” I laughed and so did he. “Nope, just you. Your just. I don’t know really just something about you makes me want to know you.” I smiled and got up. He followed me when I threw away the watered down soda.
“Well I hope I would get to see you later?” He sounded like he wanted my number. I wanted him to ask for it not just have me give it to him, I would sound too easy. “Okay.” I started walking off. “Well, um. Here mabe we can see each other again. Bye Summer.” He gave me a piece of paper that says, “Meet me here fri. 8:00am would love to see you again” and walked off. He didn’t ask for my number? He expected me to meet him?
I went to my car and tried to start it. Of course it didn’t want to start. I pulled out my phone and heard a knock on my window. There was this man with a ski mask on and gun pointed at me through the window. I did the most stupidest thing in my life, I screamed. I quickly try to start my car again.
I turn to look for my phone that I dropped and hear a loud thud. I see the guy with the ski mask fall to the ground and Allen telling me to open the door. I get my phone and try call the police. My heart was racing and face was turning red. I dropped my phone, and I closed my eyes to prayed, I prayed that Daniel and Caleb were all right, that Kayla won’t be mad at me for what I did last night, that my dad would still let me stay, everything that poped in my mind i prayed about.
“Summer open the damn door. It’s all right the guys is knocked out.”
“No.”
I was crying I didn’t want to be here. I wanted to be home in my bed asleep. Allen was still trying to open the door.
“Summer!”
I unlocked the door and he plunged in and picked me up from my seat and carried me out.

CALEB
The phone rang while I was clean the pan from making bacon that morning. Summer just left, without saying goodbye to Daniel or my mom. I only saw her and it seemed like she didn't want to see me anymore.
"Hello? Oh hello John." My mom picked up the phone, Summers dad was on the other line.
"She what! Oh no, I can't believe it. She was gone all night? Where could she have gone to?"
My mother stared at me already knowing the answer she had just asked.
"Okay, thank you John for telling me. We will be there soon." She pressed the end button and slowly walked to where I was.
"So, what's going on?" I asked
"Summer almost got mugged this morning." She sounded like it wasn't a big deal.
"What! Where was it at? Is she all right?" I could feel my voice get higher.
"She's fine. I guess a man she had meet that day punched the guy and rushed her to the hospital."
"A man she meet?"
"Yeah the strangest thing. The had just meet that day. Left out the same way and watched her get into the car, saw the douche bag and knocked him out."
"Oh," I had nothing else to say, I was speech less.
I walked up the steps into Daniels room. He was asleep, he came down stairs looking for Summer after she had left and was heart broken that she didn't even say good bye. I nudge his arm and immediately he woke up.
"Is Summer here?" He said, barely knowing where he was.
"No, man, She is at home. Mom and I are going to see her now, just thought you should know."
The look in his eyes were worried, but nothing came out of his mouth. After standing there for a while I just left.

We were there in no time, Daniel in the back of the car, not wondering why we were her in the first place. My mother jamming to Maroon 5 while I stare out into the black road. It seemed like we have never meet each other before. It was as if we just meet and pilled into the car. My mom pulled into Summer's drive-way and put it into brake while waiting till her song finished. The second the car had stopped, Daniel got out and walked to the front door, me quickly behind him. We walked in to see John, drinking his coffee on his lounge chair, Summer on the right side of the couch while a strange guy sitting right next to her. I walked cautiously to Summer to be stopped by Ally asking to talked to me in the other room.
"Caleb, I know that you and Summer have been close through out the years but I want you to know that I am taking her with us to New York. She told me about the kiss, or shall I say kisses, and I am very dissappointed in you Caleb. I expected it from Daniel but not you. You are never impulsive like that, Summer feels horrible for what she had done. Please tell her that it wasn't her fault..." She held up a finger before I can argue, "...Even if it was, still I can not see her hurt by two guys that probably can hurt her more than I can hurt her father." I stood there, stunned. Trying to put together the pieces of what she was saying, I straightened myself and walked out of the room.
"Please stop poking me, It hurts." Summer was laughing while Daniel was trying to cheer her up.
"So, anyone happy here to see me?" I hoped there was.
"Of course, Love." Summer was way too happy for what she just went through.
I studied her. She never looked so sick, her hair was pulled back into a tight bun, her dark brown hair not complementing her pale ivory skin. She had dark circles around her eye like she was punched in the nose. The guy she had brought home didn't like the company she was getting. He cleared his throat trying to get her attention.
"I want to glass of sweet tea. Allen, may you come with me?" She smiled her wonderful smile and walked out the room. The Allen guy three seconds behind her.
"What's wrong with that guy?" I stuck my thumb behind me, talking to Daniel.

SUMMER
I was in the kitchen cleaning an already clean glass cup trying to concentrate on what just had happened. Okay, Daniel loves you, Caleb as well, Then I just meet Allen, whom I cannot get out of my head. I held unto the kitchen counter trying to hold myself into place from the tornado that was happenening just outside this kitchen. I breath deeply. Deeper untill I started to get light headed. I jolted up feeling a warm hand on my shoulder. I turned and had forgotten I asked Allen to meet me in the kitchen.
"Oh, I am so sorry about the brothers. They are just protective about me, I am like their little sister." Or their just that in love, I thought.
"I don't like how that Daniel kid looks at you, and Caleb looks like he is gunna lundge at me for just touching your hand." I felt bad.
"I am so sorry."
"Stop blaming yourself for things you haven't even done." You barely know me. You don't know what I had done.
"Im sor... Never mind." I tried to smile. Catching myself from saying the words again.
"May I ask for a favor from you?"
"Anything."
"Can I kiss you, I have been wanting to since I have seen you today with your deep concentration. I just want a kiss."
"I... I am so sorry. I shouldn't have lead you on to wanting to kiss me. I just haven't been the best at relationships or kissing for that matter lately. I just kinda want to be on my own for a bit. I am so thrilled that you had asked me, really it isn't you. I just want slow, slow is way better."
His face completely went blank, I didn't know if he was mad or dissapointed or even sad.
"That's all right. I shouldn't have asked anyways. It's fast, your right." He smiled. I felt a little better.

It all happened so fast. My dad took me with him to New York and we moved into our house soon after. We now live in Auburn. I can't really think of ever saying good bye to anyone other than Kayla and Allen. I was in the middle of my 2nd semester at school. I really didn't expect that I would hear from anyone other than Kayla. She wanted to come up and see me so badly, I could just see her, sitting at the phone. Her blond hair curled, the way it always was, waiting for me to call after school. I wished I could imagine her at least hanging out with someone else. May be a friend that she didn't get to hang out with all that much because of me. But all I can see is the summers we laid out sun bathing. With her hot pink strapless bathing suit and her long pink streak on the left side of her hair. Just stairing at clouds, oblivious to what she was doing to the guys that were watching her from a far. I would laugh at how she wouldn't sweat in the baking sun while I was dripping from head to toe, my hair sticking to my head with my ball cap backwards and my cat eye sunglasses. I giggled to myself wondering if she was thinking of the same things I were.
I got a call on my flip phone with a number I didn't recognize.
"Hello?"
"Summer. Oh good, Kayla did give me that right number."
"Excuse me? Who are you?" I started remembering that familiar voice.
"It's Allen? I texted Kayla wanting to know what your number was." Allen. Oh my, Allen. My heart skipped a few beats.
"Oh My God Allen. I can't believe that you still remember me. What has it been, three months?"
"Well that's why I called to see if you remembered me. I can't stop thinking about you. I tried my best trying to not call you. Only because of the last time we actually talked, you dissing me and all." He laughed knowing that wasn't the truth.
"I would never forget you. I can't say the same about getting you outta my head only because Kayla is always calling distracting me from my thoughts."
"Well that's alright. I also have another surprise. I am in New York."
"What?"
"Yeah I am visiting my grandmama this year because she got sick in Naples."
"Well that's not that far off from Auburn."
"Nope. I wanted to ask if you wanted to catch a movie or something?"
"Sure." It's like I won the lottery. One of the most sweetest guys I know just asked me on a date.
"Okay. I will text you later. Mom is calling me. We're leaving tonight."
I closed the phone and looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't look that bad. I lost
