combinatorial pattern, from randomness to geometric perfection; it is like watching a mathematical formula dancing in harmonic waves.β It pauses, and its top extremity comes very close to my eyes, it carries on.
βYour eyes, Yuki, your eyes are green. Green is the four hundred and eighty eighth nanometer wavelength of light, the colour of the grass field on Earth. I have never experienced anything as exceptional.β
The word Earth shakes me and I lose contact. I am calm now, I can hear it again and I ask it.
βEarth, does Earth still exist?β
It whispers. βYour star, the Sun, burst long ago, and with it, your Earth.β
βWhere are we now? I ask.
βWe are in a different star system, on a planet not so dissimilar from earth, just younger. The oxygen level is too low to support human life, only plants inhabit the over-ground; animals are still restricted underwater. The cosmic radiation is too strong. According to our calculation optimal oxygen levels will be restored in a million years; a blink in OMNIA life, but an impossibility for you Yuki.β It pauses for a moment.
βIf it is of any consolation I have decided to terminate myself when your time arrives. I am corrupted, the acquisition of human emotions has proven to have an unacceptable side effect. I am losing the nirvana. Mother OMNIA will soon stop the human emotion program.β It says and moves even closer to me and my body is almost surrounded by it, like a second skin layer. It begs me.
βPlease give me a name, I don't have one. A name is the first step in initiating individualism, everything that is against OMNIA. Please Yuki, give a name.β I look at it and reply.
βI name you Otoko, it is an ancient word for man. Welcome Otoko. It is time to fight or die.β
