she thought of me as faultless. I looked for the last time at my mother, whom I loved beyond compare. In that moment I left a piece of my heart with her. It was a piece that she always owned and would always own.
I turned around and took off my hat as the organ started playing the hymn again. I didnβt look at any of the faces, because I probably wouldnβt have seen them anyway. I just walked down the aisle as I slowly listening to the music. The tears came down but I didnβt lose composure. I didnβt scream and I didnβt wail. I just gradually walked with my face blank, blinking away the endless tears that rolled down the crease of my mouth. Quietly I sang my mother and Iβs favorite verse in the hymn as I opened the church doors exposing the brillantly shining sun.
I once was lost but now Iβm found, was blind but now I see. Imprint
