excitement she galloped through the hills, feeling as though she was flying, finally witnessing this gorgeous view. The boy heard a crackle on the ground, it was Anaya but he was unaware of the sound, considering Anaya wasnβt supposed to be up where she was visible. As he hid, Anaya was curious as to know where he had escaped. She ran right past him under a rock, still running until she hit a faint vision of lights.
Everything around the light was dark, dark movements, voices and the sound of crackling fire as she slowly got closer. They say curiosity killed the cat, Anaya had no fear, only curiosity which was almost excitement. Lights became more vivid as she walked toward this place they were told was crossing boundaries. It was so unusual, seeing little boys and girls being punished in the most strange ways. Woman were crying holding their babies while they were beaten with sticks, the pain was so harsh the terror in Anayaβs eyes was instantly life changing. She stepped back after watching a little boy get kicked until unconscious, caught her breath and tears streamed down her face.
She wanted to run in there and stop all the hatred to these innocent people who were just the same as the torturers. This was disgusting slavery. The kind that brought the vomit back up your esophagus just when you thought you were alright.
Mom and Dad were yelling, Anaya was hearing there calls but couldnβt respond, not right now. She was in such despair nothing could re-track her mind. The terror in the slaves eyes was horrifying for a little girl of 12, she was just seeing the world in reality, and witnessed her own countries abusers. Ready to leave, she sneezed, and at that moment her heart stopped. It was the wrong thing to do at the wrong time.
Guards seized at the action and immediately gathered five men for a search. Not knowing what to do, Anaya raced for her LIFE, trampling over the rocks roughly while her feet slowly blistered. The men spotted her with lanterns chased her down while she was in a clear view, heading up the hill. She thought fast not to travel back home incase they found where her siblings and parents were hiding. This peace, tranquility was all torn away, now Anaya had her life on her hands. Anaya was losing breath and they were catching up. She ran up past the waterfall, through the water, stumbling over a rock knocking a funny bone. Getting back up at the speed of light she ran even faster they were almost ten feet away.
Little did she know, these men were experts at catching runaways, and split up to catch her on every side of her destination. Her mother and father kept yelling until they heard a response, an urgent response, somewhere along the hillside. Immediately her father whipped out his weapons, ran up the hill as if he were saving his own life, but it was a long trek.
Anaya ran so fast, her heartbeat took over her body, letting the whole thing pulsate. Just when she thought she was safe, a man came in front of her holding out a bag and flipped her upside down in the bag with no hesitation. Anaya fought for her life but he just made the rope tighter and she lost more circulation. Her father had just come up the hill, but all that was left was her black bow tie, her mother made her for her birthday. He sat, crying begging to god to bring his little girl back. But nothing changed as the sky was lighting up.
Anaya remembered being back in the village, the minute the bag was off her head she saw the little boy hanging upside down. Dead. She could see a blur of redness over her eyes as things she had never seen were frightening. She yelled for her parents but the moment a word came out, a stream of blood accompanied her pain. There was no sense in crying, that left more pain than screaming. She felt alone and empty even though she was surrounded in a place with 50 mean, disgusting men. Her emotions were going wild and just when she decided to get up and run, the adrenaline stopped. The pain was so brutal from her inner thighs all the way to her kneecaps, leaving her stuck pasted to the dirt. A man came down and kissed her cheek, getting closer holding her up, she bit him and he yelled, whipping her once more.
Anaya thought she could get away.
Terrified in shock, Ashley woke up trembling, yelling for her maid. She came running in with a breakfast tray, setting it on her desk opening her pink canopy king size bed. Her maid comforted her with a morning tea, but Ashley could have none of it. Her earlier day of complaining about everything she bought, tried on was repeating in her head. She turned on her flat screen television, trying to get her mind off of the horrible nightmare she had just experienced. But it wouldnβt disappear. The images so hurtful, rested in her mind like a picture out of a book. Channel 24 Much music, she fast forwarded the commercials until she saw a suspicious commercial, one of which connected her dream. Immediately she rewound it, watched the whole thing. She saw the slavery in Africa, the housing lost because of these abusers, but this was all dΓ©jΓ vu. Ashley sat puzzled yet concerned, so in tuned to this presentation. Until finally she saw the little girl, she saw Anaya.
Her maid told her to get some sleep after explaining her dream and seeing Anaya on television. Ashley called her mom arranged a flight, using all her next shopping spree money towards flying to Africa and help build new houses, a new village all for this one girl, this one family who made a difference in a dream.
And Ashley did.
