Thirty Days by Ceferine Young (carter reed .txt) π
Sheβs an awkward, silent, clumsy nerd. But after an incident that happened a year and a half ago, everything in her changed.
One afternoon as she walked home, Alex decided to turn and take a detour to the forest. She went to the lake located in the middle of the forest to drown herself to death.
Her intention failed though when one person tried to save her.
Zeus Cole
Heβs popular, rich, smart, and good-looking. But heβs also one of the jerks who love to bully Alex.
One afternoon, for some unexplainable reason, he followed Alex through the forest. And when he realized what she was trying to do, Zeus came and saved her from drowning.
After that very moment, Zeus couldnβt leave Alex alone. He made a deal with herβto convince her not to kill herself in a span of 30 days.

βHome! My Mom would kill me if she finds the letter I placed on the kitchen counter.β I replied, panting but still running.
βThe irony,β Zeus scoffed. βWhat letter?β He asked, confusion was clear in his voice.
βA suicide note of some kind, duh,β I retorted and rolled my eyes, knowing he didnβt see.
When I finally reached the house, I was already out of breath, and behind me was Zeus. Yes, the jerk followed me to my house because he said, and I quote, βItβll be in my conscience if I let you go alone this time and you try to kill yourself again.β I didnβt know this guy had a conscience. Well, Iβll be damned!
I took a hold on the doorknob and realized it was already unlocked. Oh, drat!
Slowly opening the door, I peered before I fully entered. I shooed Zeus away but he didnβt budge. I walked further and decided to head directly to the kitchen when I thought no one was on sight.
Just as I turned right from the corridor, I immediately stopped on my tracks when I saw my Mom standing in the kitchen, my letter on her hands.
Oops! Iβm late.
She snapped her head at me and with a furious glare, she stormed towards me and I suddenly felt a sting on my left cheek. My Mom slapped me... hard.
βWhat the hell were you thinking?β She cried, tears flowing down her face, and engulfed me in a tight embrace. βPlease donβt do this again, Alex, please.β Mom begged, grasping my face with both her hands and kissed me on the forehead tenderly before hugging me again.
βIβm sorry, Mom.β I muttered weakly and returned her embrace.
Someone suddenly cleared his throat, and I mentally cussed.
I totally forgot about Zeus.
